Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

To develop and implement consistent quality, safety, health and environmental standards that ensure the Middle East and International businesses remain compliant to all current and foreseeable legislative requirements at all times. To create a safe and ecologically sound working environment for all Group Company employees, customers, and the general public to work within and around.

Principle Accountabilities:

Quality, Safety, Health & Environment Strategy
- Work with the Executive Team to produce and maintain a standard framework of QHSE policies and procedures.
- Contribute to overall operating systems ensuring continuous compliance of all regulatory and self-imposed QHSE standards.
- Ensure all elements are in place for single quality assurance standard accreditation and establish/maintain ISO 9001 and 18001standards.
- Work with business to introduce, monitor and report operational metrics and QHSE performance targets that drive compliance and recognition of QHSE importance.
- Ensure application of operating systems through structured audit regime for all compliance disciplines.
- Develop practicable environmental and ecological sustainability improvement plans.
- Pro-actively work to prevent and reduce unplanned deficits e.g. internal and external customer complaints, incident ratio, LTI days, reduce the exposure to any claims.
- Ensure continuous improvement in all QHSE standards, incorporating existing best practices.
- Develop and introduce QHSE cultural improvement programme via depot engagement and communication initiatives.
- Provide robust incident reporting structure with analysis and recommendations

Training - QHSE:
- Managr, develop and implement QHSE training programs.
- Coordinate a range of programmes in liaison with external customers.
- Produce assessment report, with regards to attendance, attention, achievement and customer satisfaction.
- Promote training programmes available with external companies and customers.
- Ensure all training centre guidelines and criteria are adhered to.
- Effectively manage the training budget.
- Produce training materials, manuals and necessary documentation.
- Provide monthly reports on training targets and schedules.
- Plan and agree annual training course schedule and monitor trainers resources availability and workload.
- Manage overall training portfolio providing leadership and direction on curriculum design and development.
- Evaluate performance effectiveness of training delivered, and incorporating feedback and making amendments when necessary.

Operational Management:
- Manage information on all QHSE matters, to provide monthly update reporting mechanism
- Review and react to customer feedback on all QHSE matters
- Interface with relevant Group colleagues to ensure full comprehension and application of standard operating systems
- Assist with production of current and appropriate information for customer, supplier and external accreditation body enquiries.
- Manage internal audit programme (on pre-planned and random reactive basis)
- Work with all Managers and employees to embed best practice and provide support and training where required
- Conduct trend analysis of non-compliances and propose corrective and preventative actions where appropriate
- Represent the interests of the Middle East & International businesses at internal, external, or regulatory investigations
- Identify and address collective and individual training needs
- Provide monthly reports to group and HSSE committee.

Position in organization:
- Be a contributing member of the Senior Management team and develop productive relationships across all functions of the Middle East & International business to meet the overall business plan
- Provide dotted line professional support to business based operations staff and contribute to the overall development and effective management of quality functions across all locations
- Reports to Technical & Engineering Director

Requirements

- Demonstrable understanding of QHSE systems and their commercial effects & benefits
- Working knowledge of ISO quality, safety, and environmental systems.
- Proven ability to influence behavioural actions and manage cultural change
- Previous experience of quality systems within plant hire environment
- Excellent communication skills at all levels
- Able to develop training curriculum, documentation and manuals.
- CPCS or equivalent instructor
- Preferred experience in Construction Industry
- NEBOSH Diploma
