Quality Assurance Manager

Job description / Role

• To develop and manage the quality management system comprising quality policy, procedures and activities across all company offices and fields of operation. The role includes, but is not necessarily limited to promotion of the organization’s corporate quality culture through liaison with senior management and technical staff and dissemination of quality management information, development and maintenance of quality management policy and procedures documentation, review of project quality plans and other project quality documentation, auditing of project quality assurance and quality control activities, development and implementation of methods and metrics for measurement and recording of quality data, preparation of reports to management, etc.
• The Role will also extend to development of Environmental Health and Safety policies and documentation in liaison with in-house EHS specialist staff.
• The Quality Assurance Manager will report to the Chief Operating Officer and liaise with the Corporate Directors for Design and Construction Supervision as well as with senior management and technical staff as required.

Requirements

• Bachelors Degree in architecture or engineering and a minimum of 10 years experience since graduation, preferably in a consulting environment within the building construction industry
• Depth knowledge of international quality management standards and practices, particularly ISO 9001; 1994, 2000 and 2008 versions and their application, with practical experience of implementation of these standards on major building design and construction projects.
• Knowledge of international Environmental Health and Safety Standards and procedures would be advantageous.
• Proficiency in written English and familiarity with construction industry processes and terminology are essential requirements for the position.
• By its nature, the Role requires a strong but adaptable personality with well developed interpersonal skills in order to achieve results through collaboration and the ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with staff at all levels throughout a multi-cultural organization.
