The Role


The Role


The candidate will have substantial proven experience within the electro-mechanical quality inspection, quality engineering assignments and supplier development and control initiatives. They will be responsible for quality inspection of key components, sample inspections and drive key suppliers to identify & eliminate any recurring quality or supply issues.

Further Duties:

Reduction of key component quality issues.

Elimination of disruption to project power production caused by key component damage, product quality or supply.

Inspection of reworked non-conforming material (Re-Work) for adherence to rework specifications and conclusion of remedial actions completed through Manufacturers Fault Reports.

Inspection and disposition decisions of parts returns, both mechanical and electrical.

Inspection of outgoing ‘spares’ material for adherence to order requirements, packaging specifications, and potential quality issues.

Investigation of spares complaints by the inspection of associated parts within the company and at suppliers.

Targeting the continual improvement of out of box quality to customers.

Display Substantial proven experience within electro-mechanical quality inspection and supplier control areas.

Must have an excellent understanding of product quality, preferably proven ISO 9001 experience.

Reporting regularly showing trends and corrective actions taken for issue elimination and continuous improvement.

Ongoing supplier liaison and help towards the establishment of supplier relationships.

Undertake investigation of quality issues to resolution, in conjunction with all necessary internal or external bodies relating to product/process/system. These may be initiated by internal or external customers.

Maintenance of Quality Records and Metrics

Creation of robust technical specifications with support from Engineering for key components that can be repaired locally.

Requirements


Minimum 5 years experience in a similar position

In Process Inspection experience

First Article Inspection experience

Approved Operator / Supplier Audits

Work on own initiatives and resolve any issues or problems

Support shop floor with Technical issues if required

Be capable of working towards having excellent people and communication skills with the ability to operate in an international arena with cultural, communication and geographical challenges.

Develop experience in commercial awareness

Pro-active, enthusiastic, driven and determined.

Willingness to travel to work within suppliers facilities.

Able to interpret Engineering Drawings

Experience of Goods In Inspection and best in class stores practice & processes advantageous

Power Generation knowledge advantageous

Experience of ISO9001

IT Skills – All aspects of Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Visio

Experience of Lean Tools, Error proofing etc.
