Job description / Role
Job Purpose:
Overall responsibility for oversight and resolution of contract management issues.
Responsibilities:
- Review cost estimates and bids and make recommendations to the Contract Manager.
- Technical assistance to those reviewing Payment Certificates/Vouchers and Claim submittals.
- Technical assistance with those reviewing and approving/ disapproving of invoices recommendations for payment.
- Ensuring that the requirements of the contract documents are implemented and maintained throughout the Contract period.
- Assist in the review of contractual notices of claims and providing contractual advice to the Engineering in their administration of the Construction Contract.
- Interaction with the relevant Contractors in respect of all contractual matters.
- Assists in the drafting of commercial terms for design, engineering and/or construction services for approval by the Contract Manager.
- Reviews all contract documents to ensure congruity and to minimize patent and latent ambiguities.
- Assists with administration of on-going Contracts, including monitoring Contractor and commission compliance with the Contract documents.
- Investigates problems and recommends corrective action.
- Prepares correspondence and maintains records necessary to ensure the effective administration of all Contractual matters.
- Assists on all contractual matters.
- Assists in the review of Contractors claims in accordance with the provisions of the Conditions of Contract and ensures the company's interests are protected.
- Assists the Estimation and Project Control teams in respect of contractual implications of change orders.
- Assist in the preparation of Monthly Progress Reports.
- Attends Commercial Meetings and records minutes of meetings.
- Undertakes similar or related tasks as directed by the line Manager.
Requirements
- Minimum: Higher Diploma or Bachelor Degree
- Preferred: Bachelor Degree
- At least 6-8 years in Procurement
- Good knowledge of and relevant experience on large scale construction contracts, and be capable of ensuring the compatibility of the Conditions of Contract used for the various works that will be procured (for example FIDIC)
