Description and Desired Qualifications

General Summary project controls professional who forms the approximate judgment or calculation of project cost.

Responsibilities:

Understand the principles of estimating. Have a basic understanding of the relationships between the project controls functions estimating, planning/scheduling, and cost control.

Understand cross-discipline relationships within the estimating team.

Review key aspects of the request for proposal or project contract. Demonstrate understanding of estimating methods that support the requirements.

Understand the strategy and plan for estimating activities.

Be familiar with the process for developing estimates in the accuracy and level of detail required for the intended purpose of the estimate.

Understand the aspects and relationships of risk, cost, and quantities on the project.
Within a specific business group and with the guidance of lead project controls staff, develop conceptual and definitive estimates for projects that are aligned with company standards and estimate class.

Perform accurate quantity take-offs for a particular discipline.

Understand relationship between the project estimate, project breakdown framework, and project schedule.

Understand the purpose and approach for preparing a basis of estimate.

Understand the collection and use of historical data from actual hours, costs, and pricing.

Accountability:Accountable to business group estimating management with matrix responsibility to project/construction management. Provide client and CH2M HILL accurate project estimates for meeting project financial goals.Relationships:Work with project team to deliver accurate discipline estimates and quantity take-offs.Authority:Deploy and implement standard estimating procedures following the enterprise or business group estimating procedures.

Supervision:N/AJob SpecificationProject Delivery Knowledge:Familiar with consulting/design project delivery processes. Familiar with the application of fundamental estimating work processes.

Basic Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, project management, or related technical field. Experience in lieu of degree is acceptable.

Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of progressive experience with increasing responsibility.
