Job description / Role
- To provide Quantity Surveying / Commercial support to the Project Teams.
- Actively engage with the Job Officers / Planners in the preparation of all monthly valuations.
- To monitor changes in the scope of work, to prepare Variation Requests. Provide backup data in any claim submissions.
- Keep the Job Officers / Team Leaders / Commercial Manager informed on Project Commercial status.
- To participate in the preparation of monthly valuations
- To provide regular reports to Job Officers / Team Leaders / Commercial Manager
- To maintain Project Variation Registers
- To review and understand Project Scope of Work.
- Identify any additional / extra works. Prepare and submit Variation Request Submissions.
- Work closely with Planning and Cost Control team in Forecasting Project Commercial Results.
- To provide commercial / contracts support to the Purchasing department with Sub-Contracts / Agreements.
- To participation / attending regular team / client meetings.
- To be a good Team Player and encourage others to maximize project commercial recovery.
Requirements
- Minimum Qualification: Engineering Degree in a construction / contracting discipline.
- Experience: At least 5 years working within the construction / contracting industry in the role of Quantity Surveyor. Ideally some of that within the GCC.
- Excellent English both written and Oral
Key Competencies:
- Must have a good understanding of the construction/contracting industry commercial terms
- Must be able to understand the complete scope of work and know how to prepare Variation Requests / Change Orders / Claims
- Knowledge of Sub-Contracting agreements and formats.
- Good Reporting and Record keeping ability
- Understand Contract Terms
- Strong Desire to contribute and improve team performance
- Ability to make presentations / to represent company at commercial meetings
