New master development free zone city based in Dubai is looking to appoint a Quantity Surveyor

Responsibilities
- Minimizing contractual and commercial risk & maximizing commercial opportunity
- Maintaining effective links with Project Management Consultancy, Supply Chain
- Preparing and monitoring budget and cash flows SCOPE
- Responsible for carrying out Quantity Surveying function on all current and future projects or for carrying out elements of the function as part of a surveying team on a larger project
- Risk assessment - Advising on potential legal and contractual risks.
- Prepare and advise the Project Manager on interim valuations
- Approve /advise on sub-contracting, measure and valuation and agreement of subcontract accounts and navigate the process in a timely and cost effective manner.
- Contractual correspondence
- Recording, preparation and valuation of variations and contract claims.
- Operating company Cost and Value Systems
- Work in close coordination with the Project Manager and the Finance department in budgets and cash flow monitoring in compliance with cost estimate, and maintain maximum control over variations.
- Undertake feasibility studies to assist in decisions about the worth of a project proceeding.
- Thorough study architectural and engineering drawings and specifications
- Help to prepare a 'Bill of Quantities', which lists the individual components required to construct the project
- Progressive watch to check on changes of design to assess the effects on cost
- Undertake feasibility studies to assist in decisions about the worth of a project proceeding

Experience
- Having 6 to 8 years of solid work experience as a Quantity Surveyor in a major constructions company

Education
- A recognized Bachelor Degree or extensive relevant experience.
- Preferably BTEC HNC/HND, degree or postgraduate qualification. Relevant subject areas include surveying, construction and civil or structural engineering
- Computer literacy.

Knowledge and Skills Requirements
- Have a sound knowledge of building construction techniques and materials
- Have budget management skills
- Have good it skills and an aptitude for maths
- Have a methodical approach to work
- Understand building regulations and other relevant legal guidelines
- Have excellent communications, interpersonal and negotiating skills
- Be able to work as part of a team.
- Commercial awareness,
- Excellent in time management
- Methodical, eye for detail.
- Possess a high degree of reliability and self motivation.
