Quantity Surveyor

Job description / Role

We are looking for Senior and Junior Quantity Surveyors to work on one of our most prestigious projects in Dubai.

The role will be diversified and extremely challenging, reporting to the Commercial Manager. Duties will include managing all aspects of main and sub contracts documentation, commercial and procurement management of pre and post contract requirements.

Responsibilities
- Quantity take off and preparation of BOQ and tender/ contract documents to international standard
- Rate analyzing with latest prices of resources
- Risk analysis and post contract cost control and reporting short falls
- Preparing procurement strategy in line with completion program
- Preparing comparison statement of main and sub-contractors tenders and quotations
- Certifying variation and claims
- Preparing weekly and monthly progress reports
- Valuing completed work and arranging certificate of payments
- Preparing TOC documentation upon project completion
- Preparing projects closing out report with P/L upon project completion

Requirements

- Degree in Quantity Surveying or Civil Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum of 10+ years experience as Quantity Surveying for the position of Sr. QS and 5+ years for Jr. QS
- Experience in large mixed use and infrastructure projects within the UAE
- Wide exposure to project tenders/contracts/and capable of handling requirements/submissions on time
- Member of a professional body such as MRICS
- Solid work experience in monitoring and maintaining estimates versus actual
- A strong understanding of prime and sub-contracts.
- Cost and contract management experience ideally the FIDIC or NEC form of contracts
- Highly proficient with MS Excel and knowledgeable with a planning tool such as MS Project or Primavera will be an added advantage
- Experience in forming BOQ for MEP and infrastructure work will be added advantage.
