Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

The Quantity Surveyor should be familiar with the Preamble chapter in the contract for making measurements of executed works and materials delivered to site. He should possess the necessary ethics and know-how to investigate differences, to measure, to calculate and to recommend approval of contractor’s invoices.

His main duties are:
1- Set Forms for measurements and payments to the contractor in accordance with the conditions of contract. Handles cost reporting, valuations, variations, monitoring of potential claim situations in addition to preparation of the consultant’s invoices.
2- Measure and estimate building and material costs.
3- Recalculate costs if the design or materials change.
4- Provide requested data by RE concerning claims from contractors.
5- Obtain Measurements on all executed items on daily basis from site engineers.
6- Measure all materials delivered to site and inspect receipts.
7- Ensure that the installed materials are approved before considering them in interim payments.
8- Check executed quantities (actual on site Vs. on drawings) and recommend approval to RE for invoices.
9- Consider all deduction, variations, retentions, day works etc.. in interim payments, as directed by the resident engineer.
10- Ensure that all measurements are in accordance with the preambles of the bills of quantities.
11- Assistance in preparing the periodic reports.
12- Prepare a statement of final account recording the actual costs of the project.
13- Finalize accounts at completion.

Requirements

Degree: Bachelor of Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying.
Field of Experience: Supervision of Infrastructure Projects
Min years of experience: 10 years
Linguistic Skills: Very Good English (Arabic and Kurdish is a plus)
Proficient in Microsoft Office
