Description and Desired Qualifications

Project / business overview

The project is phase 1 of a 6 year plan to upgrade staff accommodation. Phase 1 consists of 241 residential units comprising apartments and villas, a mosque, playing field, changing rooms, associated infrastructure and landscaping. The total built up area is in the region of 70,000sqm. The development will be of a high quality and construction will be cognisant of the exposed location and long term commitment that the PDO has to the maintenance of the built elements. Some demolition of existing villas will be necessary in order to provide a platform for the new build.

Key role objective

The principal function of this position is:

Monitoring contractor's progress and reporting to senior QS

Anticipation and warning on issues which may impact on targeted time or cost outcomes

Review the contractor's monthly payment applications and report with Monitor work against the approved construction programme

Evaluation of the cost and time impacts of changes and variations

Key areas of responsibility

The priorities of this role include:

Assistance in preparation of daily, weekly and monthly progress reports

Key requirements

The ideal candidate should possess and be able to demonstrate the following skills and knowledge:

Relevant post-contract site supervision experience in the Middle East (mixed use and/or housing preferable)

Experience of FIDIC form of contract would be advantageous

5 years relevant experience (Middle East experience beneficial).
Relevant degree with QS Certification
