Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Required experience
1. Prepares documentation like take-off quantities, Bills of Quantities as per Specification.
Managing different project quantities related to the implementation of the project such as, materials, equipment and resources
2. Providing quantity estimates for items needed, and defining detailed quantities, measurements, specifications and required conditions
3. Revising the incoming tenders, Contract Drawings, and all related documents, considering both the technical and non technical aspects of tenders in order to specify the needs and requirements of the project at hand
4. Supervising the preparation of the BOQ documents specifying the necessary details for items; number, size, measurements, types, conditions, etc
5. Supervising the quantity take-off activity, as well as ensuring that number of items associated with the tender at hand is reasonable as well as determining the necessary materials.
6. Ensuring compliance between tender documents and the corresponding contract designs used for tenders, as well as ensuring accuracy and relevance in addition to providing comments and details in case of any discrepancies.
7. Preparing periodic reports with respect to the section’s activities and achievements to be submitted to the direct supervisor.
8. Managing costs on a wide variety of new building projects and structures, such as residential developments, sports stadiums, roads and bridges, schools, hospitals, offices and factories;
9. Preparing early stage budgets and detailed cost plans;
10. Identifying, analysing and developing responses to commercial risks;
11. Allocating work to subcontractors;
12. Providing advice on contractual claims;

Requirements

Education
A degree in building construction, construction management, construction science, Civil or Architecture engineering - RICS accreditation is a plus.

Skills
1. At least 10 years experience in Local and/or international Estimating and Tendering field.
2. Knowledge of computers, including word-processing and spreadsheet packages
3. Capable to work under pressure and stress, especially when facing bid deadlines.
4. Bilingual speaking Arabic/English
