Job Purpose:
The R&D engineer specialty covers the activities related to the creative work undertaken on a systematic basis, drawing on existing knowledge gained from research and/or practical experience, which is directed to producing new materials, products or devices, to installing new processes, systems and services, or to improving substantially those already produced or installed. This includes the entire development process through engineering program and project management, conceptual design, detailed design, prototyping, performance analysis, technical documentation and configuration
Management.
Job Context:
- Research and development of new technologies in coordination with the technical and business solutions department.
- Writing technical documentation and monitoring reports
- Contribute to ongoing product innovations.
- Meet professional obligations through efficient work habits such as, meeting deadlines,
honoring schedules in an effective and timely manner, and demonstrate respect for others
- All work responsibilities are subject to having performance goals and/or targets established
Other Job Dimensions:
- Conceptualize/research innovative ideas on electrical and electronics technologies.
- Conceptualize Digital image/video processing hardware and applications.
- Research on market available electronics systems.
- Understanding of IT applications to integrate the electrical and electronic hardware.
Accountabilities:
Research and Development
- Identification, development, testing, and implementation of new and improved technologies for business growth, competitive advantage and cost reduction
- Conducts laboratory POC and experiments involving products and processes necessary to execute projects. Brings tests to conclusion, analyzes data, reports results, and makes recommendations
- Ability to conceptualize new ideas, research the new ideas, and evaluate them objectively from market and financial standpoints
- Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Exercises judgment within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Has a sound knowledge of various technical alternatives and their impact
Success Factors:
- Independently determines and develops approach to IT solutions. Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting Business objectives.
Requirements
Job Specific Experience:
- Overall 7+ years with minimum 5+ years experience in directing and conducting the technical research and development on innovative ideas in electrical and electronic domains.
- Minimum 1 year UAE experience
Job Specific Skills:
- Conceptualize/research innovative ideas on electrical and electronics technologies
- Extensive Electrical and Electronic Knowledge.
- Extensive knowledge of image/video processing hardware and technologies
- Knowledge of current technological developments/trends on Digital image science. Conducts feasibility studies to verify capability and functionality of new imaging solutions.
- IT Knowledge on Hardware / Networking Technologies
- Ability to apply customer services principles and procedures
- Maintains detailed documentation throughout all phases of research and development.
- Identify and implement cost reduction initiatives identified by the Technology Leadership team.
- Provide technical support to Marketing, Sales, Technology, and Operations teams in troubleshooting and solving IT Solutions performance problems.
- Write and submit intellectual property (patents).

Salary Range for the role is between 8,000AED and 12,000AED per month
