Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Know the physical principles of radiation generation, interaction, modification and protection underpinning the use of radiation for diagnosis or treatment Use physical, graphical, verbal and electronic methods to collect information from a range of sources including patient history, radiographic images and biochemical reports Undertake and record a thorough, sensitive and detailed assessment, using appropriate techniques and equipment Know the pharmacology of drugs used in diagnostic imaging or oncology Understand ones role in the promotion of health and health education in relation to healthy living and health screening for disease detection Perform the full range of plain film and standard contrast agent examinations including those undertaken on service users suffering from acute trauma, and where the service users medical, physical or mental needs require examinations to be carried out in a non-standard imaging environments Manage and assist with fluoroscopic and complex contrast agent procedures Basic knowledge of Computerized Tomography (CT) Use to best effect the processing and related technology supporting film-based and computer-based imaging systems Distinguish disease and trauma processes as they manifest on diagnostic images Keep an accurate, legible records and handle these records in accordance with applicable legislation, protocols and guidelines Engage in evidence-based practice, evaluate practice systematically and participate in audit procedures

Requirements

Bachelor Degree from an accredited university in Radiography, Radiology Technology or Medical/Diagnostic Imaging program OR Diploma in Radiology (minimum of three years course duration) OR Associate degree in Radiography program (not less than 2 years course duration) Minimum of 2 years post graduate experience A current license, registration or certificate to practice Licensure/certification in country where qualification was obtained Valid HAAD license Sound knowledge of radiographic principles Current clinical knowledge of radiology practices Familiarity with JCI standards is an advantage Exposure to computerized hospital information system is an advantage Good communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently Attention to detail High level of customer service
