Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

- Performs general clerical duties (e.g., registers patients; obtains insurance authorization; types flashcards for X-Ray film; schedules patients; processes encounter forms; answers telephone; directs calls; provides routine information).
- Performing a range of radiographic examinations on patients to produce high-quality images.
- Selects proper ionizing factors for radiological diagnosis.
- Assessing patients and their clinical requirements to determine appropriate radiographic techniques.
- Adjusts and sets radiographic controls, such as kilovoltage and milliamperage, to prescribed specifications for proper timing of exposure; regulates the length and intensity of film exposure.
- Positions and restrains patients so that the parts of the body can be appropriately radiographed
- Implements infection control procedures for the work area.
- Checks X-rays for clarity of image, and retakes X-rays when needed.
- Process exposed cassetts using processing devices (CR System or processor) to obtain the images.
- Cleans, maintains, and makes minor adjustments to radiographic equipment, including determining repairs needed to equipment.
- Observing and maintaining contact with patients during their waiting, examination and post-examination stay in the department
- Assisting in more complex radiological examinations under the supervision of a radiologist and senior staff
- Protects patient and other personnel from radiation hazards.
- Radiographers must follow physicians' orders precisely and conform to regulations concerning the use of radiation to protect themselves, their patients, and their coworkers from unnecessary exposure.
- Working effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team to ensure that an efficient service is provided to patients
- Actively involve in the quality improvement activities of the department.
- Performs diagnostic sonograms (according to the Competency Checklists proficiency) .
- Recording imaging identification and patient documentation quickly and accurately and observing protocols to ensure compliance with the patient confidentiality.
- Understanding and observing health and safety at work.
- Providing support and reassurance to patients, taking into account their physical and psychological needs.
- Participate in the Rota of the Department.
- May have to do shift work to cover emergency calls.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Process exposed cassetts using processing devices (CR System or processor) to obtain the images.
- Take reasonable care of their own health and safety;
- Take reasonable care of the health and safety of persons and the enviornment that may be affected by their acts or omissions at work;
- Cooperate with Hospital Management with respect to any action taken by the ANH management to comply with EHSMS requirements.
- Report to your immediate supervisor any situation which they have reason to belive could present a hazard and which they cannot themselves correct;
- Report all EHS incidents and work-related injuries; and notify supervisor or department safety representative/coordinator of any hazards, mishaps or incident reporting procedure.
- Not intentionally or recklessly interfere with or misure anything provided at the workplace in the interest of health, safety, welfare or protection or management of environment
- Familiarize themselves with all EHSMS policies, standards and procedures that are relevant for their workplace and ensure compliance with all its requirements
- Attend applicable departmental safety training and follow EHSMS policies and procedures.
- Readly available and reachable by phone even not on duty.

Requirements

- Bachelor of Science
- Minimum of 2 years experience
- Specialist knowledge: MRI, CT
- Soft Skills and Personality traits: Good Communication skills
- Current Location: UAE
