The RoleThe RoleWe are seeking a qualified and experienced Engineer to represent Atkins as a Test Witness for Signalling and Communications equipment through the Implementation Phase of the assigned project. (Makkah Metro). This role requires strong technical expertise and a testing background in S&C rail environment. In the specialist field of Testing & Commissioning this role is to attend contractor testing and attest that the contractor has executed the approved test procedures correctly and to ensure the test results are recorded and defects listed during site testing and handover. Fundamental broad experiences in various systems with a key specialisation in Signalling systems are seen as essential for overall rail systems integration and interface testing. The project is currently in final design stage and Implementation has commenced with the T&C to allow a staged commissioning in November 2010 with final commissioning 6 months later. Atkins role as Rail Systems Design Consultant (RSDC) is currently planned until May 2011. This role is responsible for the documentary evidence that the contractors have completed the assigned tests by way of a Test Report to be submitted to the client. PLEASE NOTE: Due to the location of this role, applicants need to be Muslim and able to work in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia without restriction. This opportunity is available on a fixed term basis initially for three months with the possibility of further extension. |
RequirementsRequirementsTechnical Competencies - Essential - Degree in Engineering (Elec) with substantial experience in railway signalling engineering. - Experience with multi discipline integration projects. - Demonstrate ability to conceive system designs to meet requirements of equipment and systems. - Demonstrate an ability to manage and lead a team in a multidiscipline project - Demonstrate sound relationship-building skills with both clients and staff and an ability to influence and coach others - 5 Years of experience relevant to the position Technical Competencies - Desirable - Middle East or other offshore experience will be highly regarded - Knowledge of Systems Assurance activities - Multi lingual Behavioural Competencies - Essential - Demonstrate sound relationship-building skills with both clients and staff with an ability to influence and coach others - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - Customer service orientation - Team Player - Good computer skills in MS Office - Self time management to meet tight delivery requirements - Flexible attitude to balance work load and deadlines - No limitation to travel in the Middle East and other countries of operation |
