The Role


The Role


Develop and execute sales strategy and tactics to meet Business Plans.
Manage sales activities to maximize sales revenues and meet corporate objectives, with respect to local market opportunities.
Identify and secure the most profitable and suitable jobs in accordance with market opportunities, thus achieving the optimal overall result and profit for the division in line with the budget.
Monitor market trends and new market opportunities, and suggest action and development to management group.
Propose innovative methods, procedures and products to enhance operations.
Maintain and extend costumer and strategic relations to industry key players and decision makers.
Promote and market the client in the Abu Dhabi sales territory (develop, supervise, issuance and delivery of sales materials, exhibits, promotion programmers, conferences, executive meetings).
Organize department activities, including work allocation and problem solving so as to optimize and streamline operations.
Build employee motivation and loyalty through regular training, including coaching and rewarding.

Marketing, selling, and delivering the Clients products High “risk management” responsibilities due to competition and pricing issues. Compete with major players, particularly in Abu Dhabi, which is a market with its own unique set of challenges.

Communication And Important Working Relationships (specify nature & frequency)

General Sales Manager and Managing Director: 2/3 times per week – Hearing concerns, managing expectations, informing and aligning on important initiatives.
Major customers/ Distributors/ outside agencies and Partners: About every other month. Focus on resolving some business matters or simply managing relationships.
Ministry/Government AgenciesCustomer Service and Engineering Department Managers
Direct reports: Daily interactions on multiplicity of issues focused on delivering the business objectives, capability building and resolving problems.

Problem Solving, Discretion Applied, Decision Making Authority and Responsibility.
The Sales Manager is constantly involved in decision making on a wide scope of issues e.g. Estimation/Pricing, appointments, contract negotiations, recruitment, re-assignments, new initiatives,
Advertising/Promotion programs, Policies/Procedures.

B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from a reputed international University is desirable but a lower qualification supplemented by field experience is equally valued.

Extensive knowledge of and experience in the local PEB(Pre-Engineering Buildings)/Construction industry, with widespread network to local industry key players and decision makers.

Minimum 5 years of international experience in the steel and/or construction industry, with at least 1 year as sales manager in the local market.

It is desirable to have some experience in structural precast concrete design and in project and contracts management.

This position requires an experienced sales manager with a good career history in international steel or construction companies. He should have a demonstrable record of sales success. He must be skilful in dealing with complexity and sensitive to the particular cultural demands of the Middle East. Knowledge of Arabic highly desirable. He must be strategic, analytical, a good judge of people
and a natural leader with high standards of excellence. Strong personality (stature / presence / impact)

Fairly outgoing personality with excellent communication skills.

Must possess a proactive and problem solving nature.

Team player with a winning character.

Very service minded and costumer focused.
