My client is one of the regions largest multinational Engineering companies and a global leader in infrastructure solutions.

Due to recent and expected growth, they are now looking for a Regional Business Development Manager to be accountable for the success of business development and sales efforts within the Middle East.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director of the GCC Region, the Regional Business Development Manager will focus on a select number of targets and potentially strategic clients, whilst becoming a leader in the coverage of nearby regions that present new business opportunities for the organization.

Key responsibilities of the Regional Business Development Manager include:
- Developing winning strategies and participating in the preparation of proposals for prospective new business
- Actively engaging and providing sales leadership in closing new business opportunities
- Implementing strategies that enable the Region to obtain needed new business
- Developing and coordinating appropriate relationship with clients in accordance with an account management program
- Monitoring, developing and pursuing new business opportunities in the region
- Developing proactive client account plans and winning opportunity strategies as appropriate

The Regional Business Development Manager will:
- Manage a broad scope of customers across multiple diverse business lines
- Work with multiple business lines dependent on client complexity

The Regional Business Development Manager will be an individual with no subordinates but they will act in the capacity of a lead person. They will not have management responsibility for the people to whom they provide work direction but will guide Regional Marketing Representatives, Proposal Managers, Regional Directors and Sales Managers in their contribution to Business Development activities.

Requirements

- A Bachelors Degree in Engineering or similar
- At least 10 years of experience in direct selling, marketing or proposal management
- Completed a form of formal sales training for effective selling techniques
- Strong sales traits including tenacity, competitiveness, persuasiveness and overall people skills
- A background in business development across heavy industry, power or oil & gas sectors within the Middle East will also need to be demonstrated.

The Regional Business Development Manager position will involve weekly domestic travel and regular domestic travel. The position is based out of the Regional HQ in Dubai.
