The Rolls-Royce Energy business has an opportunity for a Regional HSE & Security Manager to work from our office in Abu Dhabi.

As our successful Regional HSE & Security Manager you will lead the HS&E locally in support of the sector objectives and context and demonstrate the HS&E expectations in everything you do. You will be the principal HS&E point of contact for your assigned responsibilities and accountabilities and will deliver on agreed business improvement plans based on a sound understanding of local HS&E performance whilst remaining to be proactive in response to emerging issues and events.

You will be required to target the risk-based assurance programme locally in a prioritised manner and lead or support the assurance activities as required. You will coach local business leaders in the effective completion of their assurance tasks and monitor the local progress against the assurance programme, including the effective action closure.

Your responsibiities will include developing the local meeting arrangements and engaging with management to implement and monitor best practice HS&E governance structures and drive continuous improvement. You will support effective escalation and cascade of information and issues and provide subject matter expertise as required. You will to identify the local credible emergency scenarios, help develop flexible emergency responses and integrate with business continuity planning. You will support delivery of the necessary resources, competencies and engagement to achieve effective preparedness. You will set the necessary expectations on the identification of hazards and significant changes, the assessment and monitoring of risks and the treatment of those risks to deliver improvements. You will ensure thorough risk management is achieved for activities on the local risk register.

As our HSE & Security Manager you will respond to incidents in accordance with emergency plans and maintain communications on the situation as needed. You will coach managers to undertake and complete investigations. You will lead the timely development of local HS&E priorities and prepare supporting business cases as needed. You will also help prepare the HS&E programme by considering resource constraints etc. Lead projects, including project plans, monitor sector wide progress and rectify any problems that arise. You will be required to monitor local progress to the programme through HS&E governance arrangements and interface with and feedback on any Global HS&E Services provision. Additionally, you will lead local HS&E programme communications whilst continuing to identify and promote best practice.

You will analyse incident data to identify and understand trends and propose improvements. You will undertake detailed analysis of data to support the development of performance improvement initiatives and to monitor progress against objectives and targets. You will have a team to manage and may be required to deputise as necessary. You will also be required to promote cultural changes and improve HS&E standards.

Additionally you will identify local compliance requirements and undertake a gap analysis on these and the sector wide requirements locally. You will develop improvement programmes and feed these into the HS&E planning process as appropriate. You will be required to deliver the assigned actions and monitor progress.

Furthermore, you will be required to maintain good working relations with local Regulators and interface with the Regional Corporate Heads of HS&E to coordinate the identification and responses to future compliance requirements.

Requirements

You will be degree qualified or equivalent in a relevant subject with experience gained from within a HS&E environment. Continued education and certification from recognised HS&E institutions will be highly advantageous.
