Job description / Role
Regional Head of Project Controls - International ContractorTop Tier International Contractor based in Doha - Qatar is looking to appoint a Head of Project Controls to manage all aspects of PCS across the 3 Major Civil Engineering projects they have underway.
The employer has a very strong healthy order book with a mix of clients. At present they need someone to sit in Head Office and take the Reigns for the Project Controls for the business.
The current Project Controls Manager is being transferred back to the United Kingdom for another project hence the role is now urgent and needs a top level individual .
At present they have the following 3 projects underway:
- Complex Highways & Infrastructure Project - 36 Months left on the program . This project is complex due to the scale , contract and it being Design & Build.
- Fast Track Hospital Project - 14 Months left on the program
- Tunnel Project - Part of the Doha Metro
- They need to recruit someone far strong than just a Planning Manager or Project Controls Manager.
- They want to bring someone in that understands Civil Engineering and can walk a project and relate the works , cost and activities alongside the Baseline program.
-You will be able to see issues before they occur and will know how to manage a complex client and also a Multi national team that reports into you.
Whether you are a technical thinker and have been a Project Director and now turned your hand to PC or whether you are a Planning / Project Controls Manager we want to hear from you.
The role will be based full time in Doha with occasional travel across the region for management meetings. The role will be a 11 day fortnight with 30 Days Calendar paid leave. There will be a lump sum financial package on offer with allowances for Housing , Schooling , Pension and Living.
Given the level of character this business is looking to appoint the budget on the role is ranging from 70-95,000 QAR Lump Sum with a Annual Bonus that' historically can range anywhere from 2 to 6 Months of basic pay.
Requirements
- You will have a minimum of 10 Years experience as either a Project Controls Manager on a Multi Million Project such as - International Airport , Major Highway , Ferry Terminal - Something complex with multiple contractors , interfaces and aspects of work . We are talking a 150 Million Sterling Project upwards (1 Billion AED Region).
- They are looking for someone that has 20-25 Years experience so its most likey that this individual will be aged 40 Years +. They want to see someone educated to Degree Level ideally in Civil Engineering from a reputable western university. They also want to see further education & development shown such as Chartered Status .
- You will be a strong communicator and able to dominate situations to your advantage . You will know how to play the political game with a client when needed . But you will also be able to fight your ground and protect the companies best interests when required.
