The Role


The Regional IT Manager & Business Partner will be responsible for managing the relationship between the IT function and regional offices, business units, contracts and client IT departments. To understand business requirements and priorities and ensure the identification and delivery of appropriate IT solutions to meet business needs. He/she will also assist with the oversight and prioritisation of IT initiatives and projects, and to ensure that IT initiatives deliver the required business benefit and align to both the IT and business strategies.

• Engage and work closely with Senior Management Team, Contract Heads and Senior Operating Group staff to understand business operations, challenges and future plans and priorities

• To represent IT within the MENA region by maintaining a high degree of visibility within the business and attending business meetings and appropriate management forums, providing a focal point for business issues raised, ensuring appropriate guidance or resolution is provided

• Proactively consider and identify areas where Information Technology can assist and enable the delivery of more effective and efficient educational business solutions

• To represent the regional business needs and interests within the wider IT function, contributing to wider IT operational meetings

• Act as the primary regional interface with client IT teams (eg ADEC, KHDA etc) and all UK stakeholders

• To maintain a detailed knowledge of the key business processes and systems employed by the business

• To maintain an up to date, detailed understanding of both CfBT’s regional business strategy and CfBT’s IT strategy for the region.

• To assist with the prioritisation of projects and initiatives, particularly using cost / benefit analysis to proactively managing business demand.

• To assist in the on-going development of the information technology architecture model by being able to make objective recommendations regarding the relative fit of technology to business need

• To oversee the regional deployment of regional and central IT related initiatives and/or the IT elements of CfBT’s global business related activities, playing a leading role in issue resolution

• To maintain the operational and commercial relationships management of third party IT vendors, suppliers and partners

• To assist the business in ensuring that processes and systems solutions are appropriate and adequate to satisfy both tactical and strategic business needs

Essential Knowledge & Experience:

• A broad knowledge of educational application of IT to support e-learning

• Commercial knowledge to facilitate understanding of the business in the assigned business units.

• Technical knowledge to enable adding value through the use of technology

• A broad understanding of how organisations exploit existing and emerging technologies to help achieve their business goals.

• A sound understanding of ‘cloud’ based computing and Office365

• Good Knowledge of Sharepoint, Moodle and other on line applications

• Previous experience in a business facing IT role (in IT management, IT consultancy or IT Business Partner/Business Relationship Management)
