Employment: Full Time

Reports To: Chief Officer Corporate Offering

Job Purpose
To lead the development of Personal Accident insurance to corporate customers (including Business to Business (BtoB) and Affinities schemes) throughout the GCC Region.

Key Performance Areas
Area of Knowledge:
Sound knowledge of underwriting insurance products
Broad knowledge of sales/marketing principles and techniques
Main Accountability:
The job holder will be responsible for the identification of strategic corporate prospects in each territory, creating and maintaining a database to record and track identified prospects and for defining a sales strategy for each lead that will maximize the likelihood of obtaining personal accident insurance business with each.
The job holder will be responsible for the Identification of strategic Business to Business (BtoB) / Affinities prospects in each territory, creating and maintaining a database to record and track identified prospects and for defining a sales strategy for each lead that will maximize the likelihood of obtaining personal accident insurance business with each.
The job holder will be responsible for working with existing and prospective clients to understand and analyse their requirements of and for Personal Accident Insurance products. Based on an understanding of existing insurance products provided by company and competitors the job holder will work with actuarial, underwriting and other functions to design new insurance products that better meet the needs of the target audience.
The job holder will be responsible for negotiating the best risk premium from the underwriting department and define the most appropriate loadings to win single accounts whilst keeping necessary loadings for general expenses and profits on the overall portfolio as defined by the company;
The job holder will monitor the profitability of key corporate accounts and proactively suggest corrective measures to clients before year end;
The job holder will be responsible for highlighting areas of improvement and anticipate changes in the environment.

Supervisory/Managerial/Leadership Complexity:

The job holder has no direct reports, however in order to gain the necessary support from underwriting and/or sales and distributions units to achieve business development growth and profitability targets the job holder will be required to use indirect influence and negotiation to achieve its aims and objectives.

Direct Reports: None at this time
Matrix Reports: Various
Key Direct Customers: Company customers and intermediaries, BtoB/Affinities Partners, Sales and Distributions staffs
Key Suppliers: Other Underwriting Teams, Reinsurers, Operations,
Other Relations etc.: Internal customers, surveyors

Level of Discretion
Independent Thought and Judgment:
1. The job holder will needs to be self-driven to work autonomously using significant independent thought and judgment to achieve the roles objectives.

Level of Authorities:
1. The job holders level of authority will be determined in accordance with the established Matrix of Authorities
Vulnerabilities (control span)
Limitations to Role Implementation
1. Possesses necessary strategies, tools and systems to undertake role effectively.

General Working Conditions:
Day trips within the region.

Requirements

Business Knowledge:
Sound knowledge of international personal accident insurance (including underwriting, claims and processes)
Sound knowledge of employee benefit programs;
Broad overall knowledge of other industrial / commercial lines;
Sound technical knowledge of all actual existing Personal Accident insurance products
Basic understanding of employment regulations within the GCC;
Broad understanding of local and international competitors active in GCC market in Personal Accident insurance and other (employee benefits and general insurance) lines;

Additional Knowledge:
The job holder must be able to build trusting relationships with other departments / clients / partners in order to develop complicated business cases, new products and distribution agreements.
The job holder must understand the Innovation process and be able to communicate complex ideas in simple terms to target audiences.

Minimum Requirements of Role
Secondary or Tertiary Education:
1. Undergraduate Degree within a Finance or Insurance related field of study.
No. of Years Experience
1. Minimum of 5/7 years working in PA insurance in a technical underwriting role or product development type role.
