Hamad organizes its front-line care into 3 groups: Tertiary Hospitals, General Hospitals and Continuing Care. The groups are based around patient pathways in order to concentrate specialist expertise.

AL WAKRA HOSPITAL (AWH) opened in 2011 and serves the rapidly growing towns of Al Wakra and Mesaieed. The six storey hospital has 301 beds.

Diagnostic and therapeutic services include
- Radiology (CT Scans/X-Ray, Ultrasound & MRI)
- Laboratory (outpatients/inpatients)
- Pharmacy (outpatients/inpatients)

Inpatient Services
- Medical (Adult/Pediatric)
- Medical Intensive Care Unit
- Surgical (Adult/Pediatric)
- Surgical Intensive Care Unit
- Pediatric Intensive Care Unit
- Labor and Delivery Unit
- Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
- Obstetrics/Gynecology Unit
- Operating Theater
- Recovery Room

Ambulatory Care Services
- Emergency Department (ED)
- Pediatric Emergency Department
- Obstetrics/Gynecology Emergency Department

Emergency Services
- The Emergency Department (ED) services patients of all ages with acute injury, trauma, critical illness, obstetrics and gynecological needs as well as pediatric emergency cases. The ED is supported by Pharmacy, Laboratory and Radiology services, and operates 24 hours, seven days a week.

Day Care Services
- Any procedures and surgeries that can be performed and completed on the same day are scheduled in the Day Care Facility. The Day Care Unit is open from 7am to 3pm, Sunday to Thursday.

The Outpatient Department is open from 7am to 3pm, five days a week, Sunday to Thursday. Outpatient Services are available for walk-in patients with urgent referral as well as for patients with booked appointments. The following services are available:

- Orthopedic
- Ophthalmology
- Respiratory and Pulmonary
- Endoscopy
- Ear, Nose & Throat
- Obstetrics/Gynecology

Dialysis Center
- The Dialysis Center serves patients in need of routine care, but who do not require hospitalization.

Rehabilitation and other services
- Occupational therapy
- Physical therapy
- Dietary consultation
- Social services.

Requirements

- Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- A minimum of 2 years recent clinical experience of which a minimum of 6 month must be in a relevant nursing field.

Required certification/licensure:
- Valid nursing license from the country of origin
- Relevant life support/resuscitation certificates preferred, but there will opportunity to undertake as part of orientation

Language Skills:
- English - reading, writing, spoken - proficient (essential)
- Arabic (preferred)

Computer Skills:
- Competent IT skills that enable online literature searching, and presentation of feedback/learning to peers using Powerpoint and/or word programs.
