Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

- Conducts thorough head to toe assessment on each assigned patient at within 12 hours of patient admission.
- Conducts age specific assessment of patients.
- Demonstrates ability to evaluate Nurse's level of compliance in documentation of individualized nursing care
- Provides age specific monitoring of patients.
- Provides age specific management of patients requiring special care.
- Assesses patients/family health education needs and intervenes accordingly.
- Completes re-assessment of assigned patients by utilizing nursing process to identify care needs and documents it accurately in the appropriate form.
- Plans and prioritizes his/her work to provide best quality care according to patient's need assessment anddocuments in care plan for each patient.
- Delivers planned care (Total patient care) to all assigned patients with minimum supervision.
- Maintains partogram for proper documentation and monitoring of patients with labor pain.
- Demonstrate use of cardiotocogram (CTG) machine on patients with labor pain.
- Interprets cardiotocogram (CTG) machine on patients with labor pain.
- Administers medication safely, monitors patient responses to medication where indicated and reports realtedincidents promptly.
- Positioning - moves the patient or body part to provide comfort, reduce the risk of skin breakdown, promote skin integrity and/or promote healing.
- Code Management - coordinates emergency measures to sustain life. Assists in handling cardiac arrest situation and Emergency Care - provide life-saving measures in life-threatening situations.
- Neurologic Monitoring - collects and analyses patient data to prevent or minimize neurologic complications.
- Post-anesthesia Care - monitors and manages the patient who has recetly undergone general or regionalanesthesia.
- Fluid /Electrolyte management.
- Demonstrate safe handling and proper use of equipments.
- Participates actively in patient/family education.
- Provides safe environment for the patiens and him/her self by following infection control policies and applyingsafety measures for patients.
- Monitors and records nutritional status of all assigned patients in patient's chart and informs dietitian whenever required.
- Demonstrate knowledge and skills in blood, blood products administration.
- Takes and gives complete over of crash cart, stock medication, narcotics and refrigerator items.
- Follows discharge and transfer procedure of his/her assigned patients according to hospital protocol.
- Follows discharge procedure of his/her assigned patients according to hospital protocol. Multidisciplinary Care Conference - plans and evaluates patient care with health professionals from other disciplines.
- Evaluates results of nursing interventions on assigned patients and modifies nursing care plans.
- Ensures all assigned patients got quality nursing care by reassessing patient's health status as per requirment and before his/her shift ends.
- Evaluates the level of patients satisfaction at the end of his/her shift.
- Provides timely, comprehensive and complete nursing documentation as per nursing division's
- Not intentionally or recklessly interfere with or misure anything provided at the workplace in the interest of health, safety, welfare or protection or management of environment
- Familiarize yourself with all EHSMS policies, standards and procedures that are relevant for your workplace and ensure compliance with all its requirements
- Attend departmental safety training (where applicable) and follow EHSMS policies and procedures.

Requirements

- Excellent interpersonal skills which optimize a compassionate and humanistic interaction with patients, families
- Good command of written and spoken English language; knowledge in Arabic is preferred.
- Basic computer skill sets
- Organized and able to work methodically.
- Presentable and professional attitude as well as a confident and enthusiastic personality.
- Able to effectively work under pressure.
- Must have interpersonal skills sufficient to explain procedures to patients and allay apprehensions, and to relay information to physicians.
- Must be sympathetic & tactful approach to people's problems.
- Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions applicable to the work.

- University Qualifications: Bachelors of Nursing
- Nature and length of previous experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience
