Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

My client is one of the largest Qatari Banks.

- Develop the Asia Pacific primarily and GCC strategy of the division inside the framework of Wholesale corporate banking and the whole bank strategy to develop business and deliver on individual and departmental budgets, targets and objectives within satisfactory risk appetite framework and target portfolio returns/RAROC
- Manage cross border relationships with overseas corporate clients with special focus on Asia Pacific to expand risk profile per strategy and plan
- Put in place country strategies for geographies of responsibility China, Indonesia and Malaysia and broader Asia Pacific geographies of interest.
- Cultivate relationships with regional and international banks in the Asia region for origination of corporate and trade finance deals and for syndicating bigger ticket deals
- Have the capability of covering GCC region or dealing with Asia Pacific client deals into GCC region is preferred but not crucial
- Target Asia Pacific clients looking generate business in geographies where the bank group has a presence Qatar, UAE, Oman and Turkey
- Work closely with the Banks Public Sector, Financial Institutions and Transaction Banking Division in developing the Asia Pacific Qatar trade finance business proposition
- Capability to develop and structure term sheets with clients and inside support teams for purposes of initiating and executing deals
- Undertake systematic monitoring of market and competitive trends, strategies and key performance indicators, for market infiltration and acquisition for new business
- Capitalize on client relationship profitability and ensure good asset quality of portfolio. Work closely with Alliance banks in cross border strategy for originating, structuring and selling down/allocating large financing's on club/syndicated basis
- Work with the Wholesale and Strategy office in increasing an Asia Pacific desk proposition out of Asia
- Work with the International banking Division analyst team and support functions: legal, credit, loan operations and risk controls in guaranteeing proper and timely execution of deals.
- Hold regular meetings with Global business stakeholders to achieve KPIs and budget targets on assets, deposits, interest and fee income
- Ensure that risk assets portfolio is well managed and actively checked, credit reviews are regular, and overall asset quality is preserved and improved. Identify negative trends and risk deterioration, and take timely corrective actions to reduce risk of NPLs and potential losses
- Manage Risk effectively. Maintain full awareness of all relevant policies and procedures, and ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory, compliance and legal guidelines
- Ensure that facility documentation is completed to required standards, and all facility conditions are compiled and monitored
- Continue to maintain high compliance standards. Ensure timely responses and actions on internal and the banks audit and examination reports
- Harmonize with key product areas: Trade Finance and Treasury in cross selling trade, deposits, hedging and foreign exchange products to our cross border clients
- Endeavour to promote the Banks at prominent international and regional conferences with a view to winning awards for brand recognition and market publicity

Requirements

- University degree, or relevant professional qualification.
- For Expats, higher qualifications favored such as post graduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Management, and Science. Completion of Certified Credit Programs is desirable
- 10-12 years in Banking, with international or regional bank in the Asia Pacific, and some exposure in dealing with corporate's in the GCC
- English language is a must and Mandarin desirable. Other widely spoken languages are desirable
- Product knowledge in 3 of the following related core business areas of Corporate banking, International banking, Trade Finance, Treasury, Capital markets, Loan Syndications and Credit Risk
- Banking Knowledge in Secondary Market trade, Trade Finance instruments, Loan Syndication process, Loan Documentation
- Intermediate computer literacy in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and ability to carry out Financial Modeling on Excel is desired
- Experienced in bank systems including Kapiti and RAROC
- Good communications and presentation skills
