Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Our client is one of the largest Qatari banks

- Develop and grow the Turkey and GCC strategy of the division within the framework of Wholesale corporate banking and whole bank strategy to grow and develop business and deliver on individual and departmental budgets, targets and objectives within suitable risk appetite framework and portfolio returns/RAROC
- Manage cross border relationships with international corporate clients focusing on Turkey/GCC to expand risk profile per the banks strategy and plan
- Put in place and action country strategies for geographies of accountability, Turkey in specific and wider GCC geographies of interest
- Grow relationships with regional and international banks in the GCC and Turkey region for origination of corporate deals and for syndicating larger ticket deals
- Capability to develop and structure term sheets with clients and internal support teams for purposes of originating and executing deals
- Carry out regular monitoring of market and competitive trends, strategies and key performance indicators, for market penetration and acquisition for new business
- Take full advantage of client relationship profitability and ensure good asset quality of portfolio. Work with Alliance banks in cross border strategy for originating, structuring and selling down/distributing large financings on club/syndicated basis
- Work with the IBD analyst team and support functions: legal, credit, loan operations and risk controls in ensuring proper and timely execution of deals.
- Hold regular meetings with International business stakeholders to achieve KPIs and budget targets on assets, deposits, interest and fee income, and cross sell
- Ensure that risk assets portfolio is well managed and actively monitored, credit reviews are regular, and overall asset quality is preserved and improved. Identify negative trends and risk deterioration, and take timely corrective actions to reduce risk of NPLs and potential losses
- Manage Risk effectively. Maintain full awareness of all relevant policies and procedures, and ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory, compliance and legal guidelines
- Ensure that facility documentation is concluded to compulsory standards, and all facility conditions are complied and monitored
- Maintain high compliance standards.
- Ensure timely responses and actions on internal and QCB audit and inspection reports
- Harmonize with key product areas: Trade Finance and Treasury in cross selling trade, deposits, hedging and foreign exchange products to our cross border clients
- Endeavor to promote the banks at distinguished international and regional conferences with a view to winning awards for brand recognition and market publicity

Requirements

- University degree/relevant professional qualification. Expats, higher qualifications favored such as Post graduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Management, and Science.
- Omega Credit Skills Certification level II is desirable
- English language is a must and Arabic language desirable
- Product knowledge of 3 of the following relevant core business areas of Corporate banking, International banking, Trade Finance, Treasury, Capital markets Project Finance, Loan Syndications and Credit Risk
- Banking knowledge in Secondary Market trade, Trade Finance instruments, Loan Syndication process, Loan Documentation skills
- Intermediate computer literacy in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and ability to carry out Financial Modeling on Excel is desirable
- Use of relevant bank systems including Kapiti and RAROC
- Good communications and presentation skills
