Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) Engineer

Job description / Role

* Assists in the development and implementation of Reliability and Inspection section policies, processes, and procedures to ensure all relevant procedural / legislative requirements are fulfilled
* Applies the day-to-day operations assigned for the Reliability and Inspection section to ensure compliance with the established standards and procedures

Job Specific Accountabilities:
* Should develop and implement strategies to identify, prioritize and implement proactive maintenance and asset reliability improvement processes and projects.
* Develops & reviews equipment Criticality Rankings, Key operating indicators to measure improvement.
* Develops reliability targets, Selects & plans reliability assurance tasks, should facilitate and participate in the use of Reliability tools, such as Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and Reliability- Centered Maintenance (RCM) aimed at identifying production equipment improvement needs, prioritization of those needs and determination of recommendations to improve asset utilization and production efficiency.
* Interacts with operations & maintenance personnel to ensure that reliability in the field is reflective of predications and identifies opportunities for improvements and corrective actions.
* Identifies equipments and resource needs to perform various types of reliability testing and failure analysis. Ensures usage of latest technologies to predict and prevent component failures to reduce cost defined as per financial, capacity, quality, productivity, efficiency and safety forfeiture.
* Diagnose and resolve chronic causes of equipment failures and implement corrective actions through use of appropriate diagnostic tools.

Continuous Improvement:
* Coach and train Operations & maintenance technicians for improved detection and correction of equipment problems.
* Uses leadership and expertise in the principle of Reliability Centered Maintenance to create an environment of continued asset reliability improvement.
* Analyses incident reports.
* Analyses equipment behavior history to recommend the best suited maintenance practice for optimized performance of the equipment.

Reporting:
* Prepares section reports in a timely and accurate manner to meet Company and section requirements, policies and standards.

Requirements

- Bachelors degree in Mechanical /Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 8 years experience in petrochemical plant or refinery, including 3years in technical support environment of rotating equipments using RCM methodologies. Should have thorough knowledge of RCM Methodology.

Languages:
- Minimum English language required is IELTS - 5
- Fluent Arabic / Working knowledge of Arabic

Skills:
- Advanced communication skills.
- Excellent analytical, impact assessment and problem solving skills.
- Thorough knowledge of RCM Methodology.
- Advanced knowledge of failure mechanisms, corrective and preventative methods.
- Excellent acquaintance with latest RCM tools and techniques.
- Ability to work on several incidents simultaneously.
- Ability to demonstrate and argue the technical case for or against products/ systems as
necessary to minimize technical and commercial risk within the company strategic objectives.
- Good working knowledge of rotating and associated equipment.
- Good knowledge of English.
