Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

- Lead proactive reliability processes (i.e. criticality ranking, mechanical-integrity focused, root cause failure analysis, reliability centered maintenance) to ensure long-term reliability
- Champion the reliability efforts in assigned areas of responsibility by providing technical assistance in resolving equipment design, operation, and maintenance problems.
- Design and implement predictive maintenance systems and guide others through utilization.
- Provide support and evaluations to assist in the appropriate prioritization of maintenance work orders.
- Develop and generate periodic utilization reports for processing unit equipment.
- Assist in spare parts review for ensuring equipment maintainability and availability.
- Interpret and evaluate reports such as: inspection, vibration analysis, process data, etc. to determine equipment effectiveness and/or recommend and design improved systems or equipment.
- Coordinate Root Cause Analysis (RCA) processes and track the implementation of recommendations through resolution.
- Utilize reliability tools such as failure calculations, failure evaluations, and cost and risk analysis to evaluate and prioritize reliability issues.
- Participate in audits to measure the effectiveness of reliability related activities such as equipment repairs, part quality, and failure investigation processes.
- Assist Operations, Product Control, and Maintenance Departments in developing procedures, training, and processes to ensure equipment is operated within its design parameters.
- Conduct life cycle cost analysis on new and critical equipment.
- Review equipment specifications and standards and de develop recommendations for reliability improvement.
- Recommend projects and/or studies to Engineering to support overall plant reliability.
- Develop cost justification for reliability improvement.
- Identify and maintain an active top ten high impact-refinery equipment list.
- Train on new technologies and methods for maintaining equipment to increase reliability.
- Continue to improve the reliability tools and methods utilized in increasing plant reliability. Provide process information in the troubleshooting and investigation of failures.
- Contribute and as required lead Risk Based Inspections (RBI) studies.
- Contribute and as required lead activities related to establishing and maintaining plant Integrity Operating Windows.
- Identify actual operating variable ranges for each piece of equipment and compare to design and communicate to reliability and operations groups.
- Participates in Process Hazard Analysis from a reliability perspective, and Management of Change activities
- Ensures site reliability goals and objectives are understood and met through effective motivation and communication
- Familiar with Data analysis techniques that can include: Statistical process control, Reliability modeling and prediction, Fault tree analysis, Weibull analysis, Six Sigma (6?) methodology, Root cause analysis (RCA) and root cause failure analysis (RCFA), Failure reporting, analysis and corrective action system (FRACAS)

Requirements

- University degree in Metallurgy/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Professional certifications in Reliability field of activities are an advantage.
- 8 years experience in refinery/petrochemical plant Reliability, Inspection and maintenance activities.
- Advanced computer skills, especially in condition monitoring software
- Technical knowledge in reliability centered tools and processes such as: RBI, RCM, FMEA, FTA and Root Cause Analysis
- Knowledge of RCA/FRACAS for trouble shooting and defect elimination.
- Knowledge and experience of preventive maintenance programs and the tools associated with failure detection (i.e. vibration analysis, oil monitoring, thermography) as well as the software associated with them
- Excellent communication skills, including oral, written, and electronic.
- Proven safety experience/training and leadership regarding oil and gas operations, preferably in Refining and Petrochemicals
- Leadership and Interpersonal:
- Demonstrated ability to direct and develop trainees.
- Demonstrated ability to cooperate with and influence peers.
- Demonstrated ability to listen and collaborate with others.
- Ability to describe personal strengths and development needs.
- English (fluent) required, Arabic is advantageous
