Offering premium mobility and material handling solutions for international organizations and governments, Select Auto caters to the requirements of a diverse client base for the leasing, sale and maintenance of light vehicles, heavy equipment and power generation equipment in expeditionary environments.The Repair Technician ensures necessary scheduled maintenance and repairs are carried out as per the standard manufacturer's specification ensuring minimum downtime and resolution defects resulting in customer satisfaction.

The key accountabilities for this role are:

* Check and diagnose the vehicle in order to determine the cause of malfunctioning, including use of latest technological applications such as programming, diagnostic and monitoring software.
* Assesses the cause of failure to determine the parts requirement and submits appropriate reports that enable decisions to be made on repairing the unit(s) and the use of spare parts.
* Plan and carry out the necessary repairs on-site and in workshop using standard tools and instruments and within perceived time frame.
* Liaise with Workshop Foreman to ensure timely availability of parts for repair works and reports discrepancies to Supervisor/Line Manager in a timely manner.
* Make cost effective use of materials and available timeframe in order to maintain the highest productivity levels.
* Remain abreast with latest regulations within the industry and tools are kept to the required standards.
* Work within all H&S legislation, ensure all safe work practices are followed and that there is common communication within a team repair.
* For site repairs - communicate with clients to ensure the safe isolation of the vehicle for the duration of the repair, observe & follow all site specific safe working practices.
* Safe disposal of all discharged lubes and good housekeeping practices.

Requirements

To be considered for this role you will need to possess the following skills, knowledge, experience and qualifications:

* City & Guilds, BTec (or equivalent) - General Motor Vehicle Studies, Light Vehicle Motor Vehicle Studies, with 4 years post certificate experience in light vehicle maintenance.
* Preferably a BTec (or equivalent) in Motor Vehicle Studies with Higher National Certificate or Diploma in motor vehicle engineering with 4 years post certificate experience in the vehicle industry.
* Excellent written & verbal English skills.
* Experience of working in an austere environment would be advantageous.
* Be customer focused, self-motivated, conscientious, dynamic & forward leaning.
* Have a high level of customer care, courtesy and communication skills.
* Be calm, confident and capable of responding to unplanned events.
* Capable of excellent time management. High degree of motivation and expected to work with minimum supervision, capable of understanding verbal and written instruction to ensure the required outcome.
* Knowledge of engines, alternators and panels.
