Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Supervises/conducts the technical appraisal/development studies of reservoirs in assigned field. Directs and conducts the preparation and updating reservoir development plans to optimize oil/gas recovery to meet short and long term production and recovery targets.

*Responsible for the activities of assigned personnel, plan allocating work assignment and determining priorities.

*Supervises/participate in formulating plans for developing/appraising/predicting the future performance of the assigned field/reservoirs using the most up-to-date reservoir stimulation tools including estimating hydrocarbon reserves, optimizing recovery, assist in achieving targets, maintaining reservoir pressure, number and location of wells and the optimum well and reservoir production/injections rates.

*Identifies the necessary test, including: Conventional Core Analysis (CCA) and Special Core Analysis (SCAL), reservoir fluid analysis (conventional and special PVT, Equation of Sate), production and miscellaneous tests to be conducted by service companies, writes scope of work assigned and evaluates technically bids/offers and validates the study results.

*SCAL Data Acquisition: (i) Determines the need to acquire new SCAL data. (ii) Determines the proper well to core for the purpose of acquiring new SCAL data. (iii)Prepares the required SCAL scope of work for tendering. (iv) Supervises and follows up the SCAL study with the vendor. (v) Quality checks the reported data and results. (vi) Incorporates the new SCAL results for building/updating simulation models.

*PVT Data Acquisition: (i) Determines the need to acquire new PVT data. (ii) Determines the proper well depth interval from which an oil or water sample should be collected. (iii) Prepares the required PVT testing scope of work for tendering. (iv) Supervises and follow up the PVT study with the vendor. (v) Quality checks the reported data and results. (vi) Incorporates the PVT results in building/updating the reservoir simulation models used in the reservoir development study. (vii) Skills in developing/fine tuning Equation of States (EOS)

*Mentor Junior Reservoir Engineers and / or Technical Assistants.

*Well Data Acquisition Plans: (i) Propose and prepare well data acquisition plans including Wire line open hole and cased hole Logging Programmes (ii) particularly for wells flow testing and open hole wire line pressure test and sampling (MDT/RCI tools) prepare programme, supervise the operation, perform the analysis of the data and incorporate it in our ongoing reservoir studies.

Requirements

*Degree in Petroleum/Chemical Engineering. Planning, analytical and execution ability

*Minimum of 8 years experience

*Skills in SCAL analysis and PVT Laboratory studies, tuning EOS, well vertical lift performance curves.

*Some field operational exposure to logging, well's stimulation, testing, performance monitoring and experience in well test interpretation.

*Experience in petroleum engineering/production technology and Computer technical applications knowledge are advantages.

*Proficient in English (Communication skills - written and spoken English) is a must.

*Location - Middle East Region

*Previous work in a JV environment preferred
