Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

The Resident Engineer (M & E) is responsible for the management of the following tasks associated with the construction of the project in relation to M & E works (lighting, traffic signals, Intelligent Transport Systems, pumping stations, etc.):

- The review and approval of the Contractors method statements, risk assessments, shop drawings, calculations, etc. for M & E works
- Organise and chair relevant technical meetings with the Contractor
- Review, approve and monitor the Contractors temporary works submissions and operations
- Review and approve the Contractors submissions relating to materials and sub-contractors
- Arrange for inspections of M & E plant prior to their being covered up
- Review, approve and comment on Contractor design submissions
- Coordinate with the Supervising Consultant team members with respect to quality, health & safety, progress and cost issues
- Manage and ensure on-going supervision of the Contractors works, including off site plants
- Coordinate with the Designer and or the service/plant owner in relation to design queries and possible redesign issues
- Liaise with the Authority, as well as other agencies, stakeholders and plant operators
- The assessment of the Contractors as-built records

Requirements

Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an internationally recognized accredited University plus minimum of five (5) years Chartered Engineer or Professional Engineer (PE) registration or other similar professional organizations.

Minimum fifteen (15) years post graduate experience in design, site supervision, and construction management of M&E works on major highway projects.
