Job description / Role
The Resident Engineer (Roads) is responsible for the management of the following tasks associated with the construction of the road works (earthworks, pavement, drainage networks, signage and road marking, safety barriers, etc.):
- Management of the Supervising Consultants road works supervision team
- The review and approval of the Contractors method statements, risk assessments, shop drawings, calculations, etc.
- Organize and chair relevant technical meetings with the Contractor, etc.
- Review, approve and monitor the Contractors temporary works submissions and operations
- Review and approve the Contractors submissions relating to materials and sub-contractors
- Review and approve the Contractors temporary traffic management plans
- Review, approve and comment on Contractor design submissions
- Coordinate with other Supervising Consultant team members with respect to quality, health & safety, progress and cost issues
- Manage and ensure on-going supervision of the Contractors works, including off site plants
- Coordinate with the Designer in relation to design queries and possible redesign issues
- Liaise with the Authority, as well as other agencies and stakeholders
Requirements
Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from an internationally recognised accredited University plus minimum of five (5) years Chartered Engineer or Professional Engineer (PE) registration or other similar professional organizations.
Minimum fifteen (15) years post graduate experience in design, site supervision, and construction management of major highway projects of complex nature.
