Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

The main purpose of this role will be:
- Ensure the Contractors compliance with the Contract Documents with regards to the X-Ray Scanners Equipments and associated elements of the Contract.
- Coordinate on a daily basis with the other Package team to document and verify the quality and quantity of work performed by the Contractor.
- Process the incoming correspondence and technical submittals, and perform the necessary actions. .

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for managing all aspects of the CM field team on the New Doha Port Project
- Deputising for the Senior Resident Engineer (SRE) in times of absence
- Assist the SRE to build, manage and develop a core construction management team for delivery of the contract package.
- Be an active member of the project leadership team including interaction with the Client.
- Set, manage and control delivery of all contract elements and objectives including scope, quality, budgets, schedules, stakeholder interfaces, Communication /reporting, environmental and Health and Safety.
- Clearly convey instructions to staff members in order to achieve the project goals.
- Maintain the SRE informed of all developments which may affect the project so that these can be dealt with immediately.
- Must be technically sound to interpret survey and engineering submittals to channelize and solve problems expeditiously.
- Take the required measures to identify slippage in the Contractors activities early so that immediate recovery actions can be taken by the contractor.
- Use extensive relevant construction experience to proactively anticipate and prevent problems before they arise.
- Portray strong leadership skills which promote mutual respect both from the AECOM CM staff as well as the Contractor.
- Ensure high quality of works during the construction period, strict compliance with the Employers Requirements, Radiation Safety Compliance and Safety Requirements
- Assessment of the Contractors compliance to the quality management System as specified in the latest applicable standards.
- Review of Contractors Design for compliance with Employers Requirements, Authority Requirements, End-User Requirements and Local and International Standards.
- Assessment and verification of the Contractors X-Ray Scanner Equipment Inspection and Test Plan.
- Review and provide necessary comments/approval to the Contractors technical submittals including but not limited to calculations, drawings, material etc.
- Witness all shop tests of components, parts, systems, assemblies and sub-assemblies.
- Witness all performance, operational tests and endurance tests at the manufacturers premises prior to shipment. List of tests shall be approved by the Employer.
- Conduct regular site meetings.
- Issue punch-lists or non-compliance reports for poor workmanship, defects, malpractice of the Contractor and his Sub-Contractors/Suppliers.
- Conduct final checks on the quality installation before every X-Ray Scanner Equipment is shipped out to the Site.
- Submit to the SRE daily, weekly reports with details of the progress of fabrication, construction, testing of components, parts and assemblies, and status of materials procurement. Any non-conformity and malpractice found shall also be reported.

Requirements

- Bachelor Science degree in Civil Engineering or related professional field from accredited university.
- (15+ years) experience in design, installation and operation of X-Ray Equipment with a proven successful track record
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal and technical skills
- The ability to use problem solving and initiative to analyse and respond appropriately to a situation
- Strong Commercial focus.
- Must be able to make decisions, act on own initiative and operate in a pro-active way
