Resident Engineer (Civil)

Job description / Role

The Resident Engineer will provide professional support to the management team within the Division, helping to ensure high quality service delivery and a co-ordinated response to clients.

Duties will include:
- involves delegated trust and authority, together with the use of initiative, at a level commensurate with the status of the post.
- coordinate with the Client and Contractor
- liaise with other Authorities
- advise on contractual and construction matters
- liaise with Client and approve Contractor's submissions * assert with and coordinate forward planning
- generally supervise, review, monitor and report on progress.
- liaise with all parties for site safety
- convene and chair regular site meetings
- issue additional drawings etc. as required
- coordinate and monitor activities of his team
- ensure prompt exchange of correspondence and approvals
- ensure accuracy and completeness of records
-maintain awareness of contracts' financial status

Requirements

- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
- minimum of 15 years of engineering experience, 10 of which will have been in construction supervision and 8 years on projects in water & wastewater sectors in the Middle East and 3 years in Abu Dhabi
- familiarity with applicable international standards FIDIC or similar terms and conditions
- experience within a consultancy environment specifically in the water/wastewater industry is preferred
- strong verbal and written communication skills in the English language, with good report writing, analytical and computer skills.
- must hold a valid UAE driving licence
