Job description / Role
- Responsible for the day-to-day and long-term operations and financial success of the retail division.
- Identify new retail opportunities in order meet the groups competitive objectives within the marketplace. (new retail brands)
- Ensure that the retail concept is implemented in a defined number of stores.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Develop a retail business strategy that is in line with the brand image to maximize retail performance and profitability
- Alignment between all areas of the business to ensure customer needs are met
- Oversee, support and monitor existent retail stores
- Define targets and budgets for retail stores in cooperation with the Brand Managers for yearly forecasts
- Control all aspects of stock management and guiding the team towards achieving targeted stock levels and minimizing stock loss,
- Lead the implementation of new retail stores, including strategic resource allocation and organization structure, leadership, sourcing and integration
- Provide strong leadership to the fashion retail staff in the stores, ensuring high morale, team work and good employee relations, at all levels
- Coach and develop direct reports
- Ensure all divisions within the retail area are properly staffed and monitored
- Maintain high quality consciousness within the business
- Able to meet and subsequently exceed performance targets ensuring profitability of the retail stores
- Ensure consistent and measurable standards of customer services cross the business
- Ensure Management by Objectives process is systematically applied within all stores
- Ensure compliance to all group systems, guidelines & policies
- Supervise and provide guidance to subordinates
- Frequent market visit is essential for this role to review operational standards and monitor quality of customer service.
- In liaison with the Human Resource Department, appraise the performance of subordinates
Report to: COO
Work closely with the Brand Manager, Buyer, Purchasing Manager, Sales Manager and Brand Manager
Requirements
- Have 7 years of experience in retail management / store operations management.
- Experience with FMCG company, fashion retail company and/or luxury goods company.
- Extensive knowledge of the retail industry in the Gulf region and UAE experience is a must.
- Hold a bachelor degree
- Financial management skills and the ability to maintain financial discipline.
- Leadership skills, ability to motivate and train others
- Have excellent presentation and negotiation skills
- Have good communication skills, both written and verbal.
