Retail Logistics Manager - Retail Divisional Office - Dubai

Al-Futtaim's Retail Division holds a stable of world class brands operating in buoyant markets with huge growth prospects. Some of our brands are Marks & Spencer, Toys R Us, and IKEA as well as Robinsons with a range of smaller brands selected for their appeal to the markets in which we operate. We currently operate our Retail outlets across the Middle East and in South East Asia.

We have enjoyed phenomenal success throughout the UAE, Egypt and GCC countries. We are in the final stages of outline planning for massive growth and need to prepare for the next phase of this program.

The Role will be responsible for end-to-end project delivery in-line with agreed budgets, scope and timelines. The contribution of this Role will enable the Retail Supply Chain Team , part of the Alfuttaim Retail Division to expand into new markets, improve processes and systems, onboard new brands through feasibility studies, develop strategies and offer operational support.

JOB PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Business Continuity / Contractual Systems:
- work, in close association with retail brands, to ensure support for business continuity and prevent service failures.
- be well versed with all the current Contracts in place and derive the best service of them.
- Suggest Integration models of supply and demand management within and across companies to achieve cost reduction and profitability to the Head of Supply Chain Retail.

Project Planning & Implementation:
- to develop strong stakeholder relationships and ensure regular communication with all AlFuttaim Retail Brands, and Service Providers in the Successful Implementation of Supply Chain Projects.
- support the implementation of best practice supply chain operations, researching developments in all aspects of supply chain,
- report on these developments and maintaining contact with countries and leading suppliers in the regions including MENA, ASIA, US and Europe

Customer Service:
- work in close conjunction with all the internal customers to ensure that their requirements are clearly understood and measures are taken to meet them.

Continual Improvement:
- Support the Continuous Improvement of various work programs in the Retail Division covering Warehousing, Retail Supply Chain Technology and Global Multi Modal Freight Management
- monitor of developments, identifying and supporting the implementation of best international practice.

IT & Supply Chain:
- Support the Roll out of Supply Chain Solutions & Integrations with 3PLs in the Omni Channel Initiatives as set by the Retail Division

Freight Tendering & Commercial Management:
- work very closely with the Brand Logistics Managers and Head of SC to ensure timely Forecasts are provided to Ocean Lines, Freight Forwarders to support AF Retail in the Best Commercial Models for Freight that will Impact the Landed Costs.

Warehouse Commercials / Optimizations:
- Manage, Optimize Several Format of WH Budgets and Commercials with In-house / 3PL service Providers for both Fashion and Big Box Brands .Be Able to Deliver Suggestions and Implementation strategies on Cost Synergies in the WH Budget of Retail

Requirements

- At least 8- 10 years' Retail supply chain management experience in an enterprise noted for using 'best practice' supply chain processes.
- Significant experience of managing complex Supply Chain projects from inception through implementation in challenging environments.
- Evidence of strong relationship building skills that enables robust and effective stakeholder management.
- Experience in Supply Chain Projects Involving Distribution Center Design, Origin/ Multi Country Consolidations, WMS , E-com Logistics Solutions, RFID.
- Extensive Concept Experience of Operating in an Outsourcing / or In-house Logistics Business Model within an Retail Environment
- MBA (Preferably in Logistics or International Business): Additional qualification in SCM/Logistics
- Excellent oral and written English, Arabic language skills will be a distinct advantage
- Senior Supply Chain experience within Fashion, DIY , Food retail encompassing DC / RDC, Retail Technology, WMS.
- Responsibility for performance throughout the Supply Chain
- Creative, strategic thinker with a can do approach
- Willing and able to travel
- Experience in Setting Supply Chain Operations in Africa , KSA will be a plus
