Job description / Role
Retail Manager required for luxury boutique brand
N.B. Previous retail management experience for a high end luxury brand is essential
THE ROLE
Stock Management:
Review stock level with stock control and Division Manager and implement actions accordingly
Follow up with the Sales Manager to ensure optimization of the stock level usage
Participate in setting up the purchase plan
Ensure all team members are following the established procedures of ordering/ transfer…
Strategy:
Develop and conduct the implementation of goals, objectives, policies, procedures and work standards
Marketing:
Coordinate with brand managers and the Marketing Department on the yearly plan suitable for the market and as per the supplier’s calendar
Develop with the Marketing Manager the yearly calendar and oversee marketing activities implementation
Recommend to the Marketing team on marketing mix and new openings for shops, and ensure smooth implementation.
Reporting:
Attend Managers’ meetings to review the shops performance: sales achievements, marketing activities, staff training …and provide reports to high Management in a concise informative manner
Record, monitor and analyze market trends, competitor activities; provide action plans and follow up on implementation.
General Operations:
Monitor and direct daily operations to ensure that goals and objectives are met in term of sales targets, margin and profit and take corrective action when necessary
Approve brand mix and oversee smooth implementation of opening, closing and renovation of shops and often get involved with the buying process
Maintain smooth relationships with the suppliers and business partners to ensure that overall growth of the division is aligned with the company’s strategy
Promote customer service excellence by running surveys and analysing benchmarks.
Man Management:
Make recommendations on hiring, termination, promotion and discipline as required
Attend Managers’ meetings to review the shops performance and provide regular feedback to Sales Manager
Ensure the best level of customer service , recommend action plans, coordinate implementation and monitor follow up
Support HR in the recruitment process of all Shop Staff within his/her operation
Manage, engage and guide the team reporting to him/her
Conduct the appraisal and assessment of own team members
Set the objectives and budgets for own team members and ensure their accomplishment
Responsible for coaching and training own team members, and formalise and follow up on each team member’s Individual Development Plan, in coordination with the employee and HR
Ensure identification and proper development and recognition of Talents within his/her unit.
Buying
Coordinate with Shop/Store Managers to provide Brand Managers with detailed monthly and end of season qualitative and quantitative reports on Boutique sales
Attend buying session with the commercial team if required
Prepare post buying reports and attend buying reviews
Others:
Participate actively in the opening of new shops
Maintain an efficient customer relation management system
Requirements
THE CANDIDATE
Education:
* University degree Business Administration
Years of Experience:
* 5 – 7 years with managerial roles including minimum 2 years as a Retail Manager for high end Luxury brands.
Would not consider a store manager for the role
Gender preference: Irrelevant
Age preference: 27 – 40
Fluency in Arabic and English essential
Location Requirements: Candidate must reside in Kuwait
Profile: Excellent communicator
