Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Job Purpose:
To develop, plan and ensure execution of marketing strategy, marketing campaigns, promotions and events for the allocated business portfolio, in full alignment with the policies and procedures of my client and the brand / principals guidelines.

Strategic Responsibilities:
- Participate in the development of the Marketing Strategy for the business unit, ensuring that the it is in line with the company and its principals overall strategic direction
- Participate, as and when required, in the development of a policies and procedures framework for the Marketing function to effectively meet its objectives and targets, in line with the overall strategy and direction of the group
- Review and report, to the General Manager Marketing, the effectiveness of such policies and procedures, to identify opportunities for continuous improvement
- Provide input on the functions budget requirements to the General Manager Marketing, and accordingly control expenses of the function, ensuring it stays within its operating budget

Functional Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement the marketing and promotional plan and campaigns for the business portfolio in close coordination with the business unit

- Develop and execute tactical initiatives across all marketing functions, throughout and across the business portfolio according to the specific and identified needs of the business unit
- Evaluate and recommend the most suitable partnerships/association to be utilized for the brand / planned marketing initiatives
- Develop and execute qualitative and quantitative research, using external agencies or in-house resources, as required, across all or selective brands within the business portfolio
- Liaise with individual principals on the identification of marketing campaigns, marketing execution, event concepts, layouts, advertisements and oversee the production of marketing collateral
- Interpret and map competitors activities such as communication, pricing, packaging and planning in relation to allocated to the brand strategy
- Maintain a thorough understanding of relevant principal requirements and guidelines, ensuring that all the respective brands within the business unit apply and adhere to the guidelines across all managed marketing activities
- Maintain coordination with the buying team to ensure full awareness of forthcoming opportunities and business portfolio opportunities
- Monitor overall performance of the brands within the product category and work closely with business unit to facilitate sales, recommend direction and aid decision-making by the business unit management
Ensure that a full archiving system is established and maintained, for all executed elements in the marketing calendar
- Maintain relevant mall relationships to ensure execution of local store activity on the marketing calendar
- Handle third party negotiation, contract management and validation for relevant marketing activities within the business portfolio
People Development
- Guide and motivate subordinates to enhance performance and produce quality work, and ensure that they are continuously developed for higher level roles

Requirements

Education:
- Graduate or Post Graduate Degree, preferably in the field of business, marketing management or mass communications

Experience:
- Minimum of 8 years of marketing experience, with at least 3 years experience in Senior Management role working with/for brand conscious organizations in a relevant retail industry

Functional Skills:
- Must have a good command of English
- Should be able to communicate effectively and have excellent negotiation skills
- Should be able to lead and motivate teams
- Should be Computer literate in Microsoft Office including Word, PowerPoint & Excel
