Job description / Role
1. Analyze business across multiple attributes and communicate opportunities and risks in a clear , actionable manner .
2. Bring strategic insights , analytical thoroughness and business judgment to merchandise planning .
3. Work with buying , operations and finance teams to develop sales forecasts based on market inputs , historical data and new business /merchandise insights .
4. Analyze sales trends and recommend buying plans including budget splits and size breakdowns to maximize profitability.
5. Partner with the retail buying team to ensure company sales, and gross margin goals are achieved.
6. Prepare and maintain merchandise open to buy and lead open to buy meetings with retail buying team.
7. Analyze the weekly sales reports at department, category and style level and propose stock transfers between stores to balance the on hand stock and maximize sales opportunity
8. Analyze style sales results and forecast re-order needs to maximize sales within OTB guidelines .
9. Participate in weekly cross functional meetings to discuss current business and create action plans.
Requirements
- Bachelor Degree in business , finance , economics or mathematics .
- 3-5 years in planning role -fashion retail / department store
- Specialized On-the -job training
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel - Readily grasps numerical concepts and interprets financial information accurately, ability to utilize retail math skills to analyze and drive business.
