Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

This position is based within the Automotive Division of a large and respected business group in Qatar.

The key purpose of this role is to manage the control over the efficient provision in the most cost effective manner of all vehicle spare parts inventory required by the Company. Oversees the Company’s marketing operations in the sale of spare parts both in the Parts department and Retail Shop.

• Oversee day-to-day administration and operational efficiency of the spare parts functions and coordinate and control all areas within the functions.
• Monitor the parts inventory and anticipate needs in light of future promotions, new model years, trends and suggested stock orders and maintain and control an efficient spare parts purchase ordering system.
• Improve programs for stock order efficiency, maximum reorder levels, perpetual inventory systems, non-stock/stock items, return/scrap/sale of damaged parts etc.
• Time inventory purchases to coincide with sales and special initiatives in order to take advantage of savings and liaise with suppliers of spare parts to ensure continuity of supply.
• Put in place systems for monitoring the security of the inventory and analyzing the quality of parts.
• Visit potential clients regularly to provide information regarding the department’s products and capabilities; consider credit applications, handle complaints and negotiate prices to facilitate customer satisfaction.
• Provide input to annual department budget and monitor departmental performance by reviewing monthly operating & financial results and investigating & reporting on variances against department budgets.
• Establish and maintain policies to ensure profitability of the Parts Department
• Oversee any issues related to warranty procedures.
• Undertake additional related duties as required

Requirements

To be considered for this role:

• Must have a Degree in a technical/business function
• Minimum 8 – 10 years in inventory management in the Parts Dept. of a main agent of a world class car manufacturer
• General knowledge of automotive systems and working knowledge of parts needed for specific models
• Knowledge of inventory control practices
• Knowledge of storage, shelving, safety and security as associated with the operation of a parts storage facility/warehouse.
• Ability to develop, plan and implement policies and procedures Organizing and coordinating skills.
• Skills in budget preparation and fiscal management
• Good analytical and numeric aptitude
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Ability to manage inter-departmental relationships
• Ability to communicate effectively in English– oral and written
• Ability to develop, plan, and implement policies and processes
• Skill in the use of computers, Microsoft packages
