Atkins Middle East was appointed by the Ministry of Municipality and Urban Planning (MMUP) to act as the Planning and Integration Consultant for their Central Planning Office (CPO) in Qatar.

In order to support this a diverse and specialist team have been established and are working within the clients office to support the delivery and coordination of upgrading the existing and the development of a new transportation infrastructure including current and planned road, rail, metro and other major transport and infrastructure projects. This multi-billion dollar transport and infrastructure program underpins Qatars 2030 National Vision to develop a world class infrastructure development.

Purpose:
Reporting to the Head of Risk & Cost, this position will be responsible for assisting in ensuring that risks associated with the delivery of transport programme are identified, assessed and responses to risks are implemented. We are therefore currently seeking a capable and experienced Risk Analyst to provide support within our Programme Assurance (PA) team.

Key Tasks:
- Assist in the establishment and delivery of an effective risk management framework, implementation thereof and progress reporting by adopting standards and best practice.
- Responsible for the risk register content quality, accuracy, changes and version control
- Carry out quantitative risk analysis.
- Conduct qualitative analysis to evaluate risk by using statistical software i.e. @Risk & MS excel
- Assist stakeholders to assess strategic risks.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, Ministerial departments, and working groups.
- Advise on risk management and produce risk management progress reports i.e. Dashboards
- Assist in setting out the risk management team priorities.
- Assist in providing risk management training and guidance to clients, internal & external (if required).
- Assist the risk and cost team with other related tasks (as needed).

Requirements

- Degree in relevant subject (i.e. Risk, Construction or Engineering) or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years direct risk management experience
- Knowledge in development of regional/country wide risk strategies
- Experience of working within large scale or complex projects
- Knowledge or working within a construction environment (contractor, consultancy or equivalent domain)
- Knowledge of construction related risks
- Able to liaise, engage and communicate with CPO Senior Managers, Stakeholders and Engineering Professionals and Specialists at all levels
- Able to drive and embrace Change Management in established working practices
- Able to think laterally, visualize constraints and develop innovative solutions
- Ability to work on own initiative and as a member of a team
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
