Description and Desired Qualifications

CH2M HILL Risk Lead - Doha, Qatar

Program Description:
Qatar will be hosting the 2022 FIFA World Cup Football and become the first Middle East nation in history to stage this event. The associated construction programme will be part of a major country regeneration programme including the development of required infrastructure and non competitive venues

CH2M HILL is the programme management contractor (PMC) responsible for the construction management of competition and training venues and associated common domain precincts and the coordination of the regeneration programme integration works, acting on behalf of the client Qatar 2022 Supreme Committee .

Scope:

Support development and execution of risk management programme

Support implementation of the Risk Management Strategy

Support risk identification, analysis, evaluation and reporting efforts across all involved team members and contractors

Facilitate the definition of Handling Actions, tracking of completions and Risk Oversight Committee activities

Alighn the risk management efforts of the internal staff, contractors, and third parties in areas of responsibility

Capture and share lessons learned and other useful knowlwdge that will enhance personnel ability to deliver a cost-effective, sustainable, safe and transparent program

Duties and Responsiblities:

Assessment, development and execution of risk management programme withing assigned are of responsibility

Plan: Perform planning related risk management

Lead: Manage and direct the day-to-day activities of the Risk Management effort to achieve strategic goals

Control : Ensure the quality of the risk management process in conformance with established Programs, Policies Processes and Regulations

Preparing monthly risk assessments/reporting

Support risk reporting in an appropriate way for different audiences

Qualitative and Quantitative assessment of impacts and probabilities

Reviewing impact and potential risks associated with change orders

Developing probabilistic projections of Cost and Schedule Performance

Tracking of "At-Risk" work

Providing continuity for multi-year programs

Provide support, education and training to staff to build risk awareness within the organization

Implementing risk management procedures

Performing subcontractor risk reviews

Capturing and disseminating lessons learned/best practices

Working closely with Risk Manager, Project Manager and effectively interfacing with the Client

Qualiry Assurance : contribute to achieving Programme's vision

Security and Safety : Contribute to establishing a Culture of Safety and meeting the strategic objective to implement "safety, security, environmental protection and safeguards that are as high as reasonably achievable."

Transferable Competencies:

Well organized and proactive with excellent communication skills

Maturity of judgement under pressure and ability to resolve problems without delay

Strong Technical understanding of Major New Build Programme

Strategic thinking, open to new ideas

An ability to achieve business results working in a multi-cultural environment

Flexibility to travel internationally and live in Doha, Qatar

Requirements

Basic Qualifications

Key qualifications for this position include:

Qualifications and Experience

Bacheclor's Degree or associates in Engineering or equivalent required

General Experience : Minimum 5/8 years experience in construction and engineering; 4 of those years in assessing and mitigating risk

Must be able to demonstrate ability to evaluate and develop risks

Ability to demonstrate knowledge of the principles and discipline of project scheduling

Ability to demonstrate advanced knowledge and experience with MS Access and/or MS Excel

Experience working in programme management office

Experience working on large-scale programmes

Extensive knowledge of Deltek Active Risk Manager and Primavera P6

Experience working within the Middle East, preferred.

Must be able to travel via air and ground

Must be physically able to work in extreme climate
