Job description / Role
- Critical review of credit applications of Islamic Banking transactions, highlighting risks (financial, market, management, credit operational, compliance, legal, reputational etc), if any, and recommend/ suggest mitigants prior to submission for approval to appropriate approving authorities.
- Review of proposals involving write-offs/waivers of outstanding debts put up by Recoveries Department to Management.
- Assisting development of Credit Risk Rating Policy and reviewing of the Credit Risk Rating awarded to individual borrower accounts.
- To maintain database for tracking the grading migration of borrowers (upon implementation of credit risk grading process).
- Maintaining proper filing system.
- Assist Risk Team to develop strategies/techniques for risk mitigation.
- Preparation / Review of MIS for Credit Risk as may be required by the Division.
- Any other assignments as directed by management in the area of Risk Management and implementation of Basel II standards in the Bank.
Requirements
- Omani Nationals Preferred
- Awareness of Islamic banking products and structures
- Able to analyze financials thoroughly and understand the balance sheet movements and implications
- Should be able to review credit proposals to identify risks
- Should have knowledge of banking processes
- Able to work independently
- Thorough understanding of Banks Policies and Process.
- Should be a team player and solution oriented
- Should be able to effectively prioritize and execute tasks given
- Should be self-motivated, initiative, innovative and dynamic
