Risk Manager (Hyder - Qatar)

The Risk Manager will be responsible for the day to day running and overall management of the comprehensive risk management programmes with a concentration on risk identification, risk transfer and risk retention techniques, identifying mitigation strategies, reporting and maintaining and updating the Risk Registers for each project.

Coordinates closely with the Project Management, safety, legal and commercial while implementing risk management policies and procedures to protect company's assets and minimize liability exposures. Creating, and maintaining the Risk Registers for the Project Portfolio with regular internal Project Team and external Client Meetings to review and discuss the Quantitative and Qualitative attributes of the risks.

The role will be a function within the Programme Controls Team and will work closely with the Snr. Management, Project Managers, Quality, H&S, Commercial, Finance and the Client.

Requirements

- Minimum of 12 -15 years risk management experience of which 5+ years within the Transportation Sector in Program/Project Risk (solid experience of design work in a Consultancy Office or with a Contractors organization).
- Strong Transport sector experience (Roads, Highways, Rail).
- Self-starter and leader with significant experience in the application of Enterprise and Project Risk Management concepts, quantitative risk analysis techniques and tools incl., for example, (at)Risk, Crystal Ball, Primavera Risk Analysis and PREDICT.
- Ability to manage multiple large scale projects at once.
- Middle East Risk Management design/construction finance/accounting experiences a plus.
- Prior experience in the integration of cost and schedule risk modelling to produce confidence levels for costs and completion dates in support of investment decisions and in relation to the management of major projects
- Evidence of contribution to the delivery of major infrastructure and transport projects.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Effective time management skills.
- The ability to work under pressure and handle stressful situations and meet deadlines whilst juggling multiple projects within the Portfolio.
- Excellent spoken and written command of English including Technical writing is critical to this role.
- Ability to maintain a pro-active and organized approach.
- Ability to manage own workload and support others.
- Able to multi task / work on multiple projects - Be proactive in driving schemes forward.
- Committed attitude.
- Confident to challenge.
- Good attention to detail coupled with the ability to focus on the wider objectives.
- Culturally sensitive with experience in operating in a multicultural environment.
