The Role


The Role


One of the world’s leading insurance company’s Saudi Arabia and Bahrain operations is currently seeking a self-motivated and result oriented person to fill the role of Risk & Compliance Manager. In this position, you will be reporting to the CEO and will provide a provisional R&C services from your base office (Al Khobar or Bahrain) to our existing operation in Saudi and Bahrain.

The key duties of the R&C Manager are the following:
· To manage the regional risk & compliance function in the implementation of Group Risk Policy.
· To lead and assist the local operations in the implementation of the Group’s risk management and compliance strategy, policies and standards.
· To provide a supporting/functional reporting line to the local operations’ compliance staff.
· To ensure that local risk & compliance staffs are in place as required and to advice on their appointment.
· To produce and execute an annual Risk & Compliance Monitoring Programme and report to territorial management on progress.
· To ensure the timely submission of monthly reports from local risk & compliance staff and prepare monthly reports for territorial management, as required.
· To immediately report any material or significant breaches of the Rules or internal procedures to territorial management.
· To ensure that appropriate regional policies, standards, procedures and controls are documented and implemented effectively by Operations.
· To prepare, monitor and report risk and compliance information to meet the requirements of the risk management framework.
· To monitor and challenge the effectiveness of local risk management, compliance with agreed policies and standards and actions taken in the event of detected weakness or breaches.
· To provide staff training and awareness-raising on risk management issues and requirements.
· To ensure that risk management and compliance resources are sufficient, both in terms of quality and quantity.
· To specifically ensure that all Group Policy Statements are implemented in the territories and to monitor compliance.
· To manage the HLRA and risk processes in the territories.
· To take charge as the Compliance Officer for the proposed new company to be registered in KSA and to deliver on all the responsibilities in this role.
· To develop a robust compliance framework in KSA post IPO.

Requirements

Experience required:
· 5 years working experience in a similar role preferably in an international/multi-national company.
· Knowledge of Insurance laws Saudi/Bahraini and exposure to regulatory bodies such as SAMA, CMA, CCHI, CBB and others.
Knowledge/ Educational requirements:
· Should hold a Bachelors Degree, Insurance education and MBA is desirable.
· Fluency in English, Arabic is an advantage.
· Strong PC skills with Ms Office and Lotus Notes.

· The successful candidate is a self-starter, able to work independently who can immediately take lead in the job.
· Should have good influence and negotiation skills and thorough understanding and respect for different cultures.
· Should have strong people & team building skills.
· Should be performance driven and results oriented.
