Atkins has been established in the Gulf for over 40 years, having first carried out design and supervision commissions in the Gulf area in 1967. The regional head office (Dubai) was established in 1979.

We provide a full range of design, engineering and project management services for buildings, transportation and other infrastructure programmes

Atkins in the Middle East now employs around 2,000 staff serving Gulf clients across all market sectors from offices in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Doha, Dubai, Jeddah, Kuwait City, Manama, Muscat, Riyadh, Sharjah.

Atkins is looking for Road Inspector for their Al Ain office to check & inspect all ongoing site activities for roads such as earthwork, concrete, asphalt, and ancillary work and ensure their compliance with contract specifications and requirements.

The inspectors duties to be fully aware of issues on sites, the inspectors are to have trained eyes for all trades to be able to advise their colleagues inspectors on the same site areas of non acceptable work to be verified by the relevant trade inspectors.

Responsibilities:
- Carry out inspection on all road works in progress and ensure contractors compliance with contract specifications and approved shop drawings.
- Monitor and daily report to his line management contractors progress in all road activities.
- Inspect, check, and record that work is being executed in accordance with approved methodologies.
- Check that site instructions are being followed and report findings to R.E.
- Check services locations and ensure their protection.

Scope includes:
- Inspection of site works in progress when offered for inspection by the contractors for compliance with drawings and specifications
- Issuing of pre-inspection reports to assist the contractors in executing their works to the standard required by the specification.
- Undertaking regular unscheduled walk around inspections of the site
- Keeping a record of all inspections and a site diary to the approved format.

Requirements

Requirements - Technical Competencies
- Three years Diploma in civil engineering
- Minimum of 5 years experience in the field of work
- Good communication skills in written and spoken - English essential

- Must have integrity, be flexible and proactive
- Must demonstrate ability to act independently as part of a team
