We provide a full range of design, engineering and project management services for infrastructure, buildings and rail programmes

Atkins in the Middle East now employs around 2,000 staff serving Gulf clients across all market sectors from offices in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Doha, Dubai, Jeddah ,Khobar, Kuwait City, Manama, Muscat, Riyadh and Sharjah.

As part of our regional growth plans, we are currently looking for an experienced Road Safety Auditor to be based in Qatar. This person must be a proactive team player, experienced in Road Safety Audits and possess skills allied to highway design and/or traffic engineering; and keen to take a role, based in Qatar, to assist in the expansion of Atkins’ Road Safety capabilities across the Middle East business.

Principle Activities

The Senior Road Safety Auditor will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing Atkins’ reputation with our clients and developing effective long term client relationships in the supply of our Road Safety Audit service. A key aspect will be the expansion of this service across Atkins’ Middle East business. Thus, the Senior Road Safety Auditor should have a knowledge of business development and be able to identify and pursue new opportunities for the Group.

Manage Road Safety Audit teams and assist in the leadership of an expanding service provision;
Interact with the key stakeholder interfaces to ensure Atkins take a leading role in Road Safety in Qatar, UAE and across the Middle East;
Project manage and coordinate Road Safety Audits as necessary.
Assist in the leadership of the Road Safety discipline and play an ‘expert’ role within Atkins’ contracts internal and external stakeholders and clients and;
Assist in the identification of the appropriate resources to meet current and future commitments and to Road Safety Audit opportunities.

Requirements

Requirements

The Senior Road Safety Auditor will be a qualified professional who has reached management level and is capable of providing planning, leadership, direction and technical expertise for Road Safety Audits. He or she must have a minimum qualification of a BSc, BEng, BA or equivalent, have demonstrable experience as an approved Audit Team Leader with more than 10 years experience in Road Safety Auditing or an allied field, of which 5 years should have been in at the Audit Team Leader level.

The Senior Road Safety Auditor should:

Be an experienced Road Safety specialist with a demonstrable track record in the delivery of Road Safety management on projects of various scales, both local roads and motorways/expressways;
Have an excellent knowledge of Road Safety Audits and accident investigation and prevention;
Demonstrate a sound knowledge of highway design and/or traffic engineering and be able to contribute skills in these areas beyond Road Safety Auditing;
Offer a proven track record of working with planners, designers and other professional on delivering safe design in roads and highways;
Possess a “rounded profile”, comfortable with planning, analysis and managing people and teams to drive for a successful delivery and;
Be effective in building good working relationships within a wide reaching business, both within project teams internally and with clients and stakeholders.
