We provide a full range of design, engineering and project management services for infrastructure, buildings and rail programmes

Atkins in the Middle East now employs around 2,000 staff serving Gulf clients across all market sectors from offices in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Doha, Dubai, Jeddah ,Khobar, Kuwait City, Manama, Muscat, Riyadh and Sharjah.

As part of our regional growth plans, we are currently looking for an experienced Road Safety Auditor to be based in Qatar. This person must be a proactive team player, experienced in Road Safety Audits and possess skills allied to highway design and/or traffic engineering; and keen to take a role, based in Qatar, to assist in the expansion of Atkins’ Road Safety capabilities across the Middle East business.

Principle Activities

The Road Safety Auditor will be responsible for supporting the management team in maintaining and enhancing Atkins’ reputation with our clients and developing effective long term client relationships in the supply of our Road Safety Audit service.
Contribute to Road Safety Audit execution and delivery;
Interact with colleagues and managers to ensure Atkins maintain high standards and integrity in the delivery of the Road Safety business in Qatar, UAE and across the Middle East;
Assist in the project management and coordination of Road Safety Audits as necessary.
Assist in the development Road Safety discipline and play a supportive role within Atkins’ contracts with internal and external stakeholders and clients and;
Assist in the identification of the appropriate resources to meet current and future commitments and to Road Safety Audit opportunities.

Requirements

Requirements

The Road Safety Auditor will be a qualified professional who is capable of assisting in the planning and execution of Road Safety Audits. He or she must have a minimum qualification of a BSc, BEng, BA or equivalent, have demonstrable experience as an approved Audit Team Member with more than 5 years proven experience in Road Safety Auditing or an allied field, possess appropriate training and have maintained relevant annual CPD to uphold their role as an Audit Team Member.

The Road Safety Auditor should:

Be an experienced Road Safety practitioner with a demonstrable track record in the delivery of Road Safety Audits on projects of various scales, preferably for both local roads and motorways/expressways;
Have experience and training in Road Safety Audits and accident investigation and prevention;
Demonstrate a good knowledge of highway design and/or traffic engineering and be able to contribute skills in these areas beyond Road Safety Auditing;
Be a proactive team player capable of working with planners, designers and other professional on delivering safe design in roads and highways;
Be willing to travel within the Middle East region in support the expansion of Atkins’ Road Safety Audit service provision;
Possess a “rounded profile”, comfortable with planning, analysis and communicating with people at all levels; and;
Be effective in maintaining good working relationships within a wide reaching business, both within project teams internally and with clients.
