The RoleThe RoleJob Summary The objective of the Work Zone Safety Management Programme is to develop a traffic safety management system to ensure safe and efficient road construction and maintenance works for both drivers and construction workers. The Work-Zone Traffic Safety Management review team should conduct a rolling programme of compliance review on Work-Zones throughout the State of Qatar (working closely with relevant stakeholders, including the Management Contractor) Duties & Responsibilities Participate in a rolling Work Zone Traffic Management Review Plan and Programme against a risk based framework Undertake Work Zone Safety Review on the State of Qatars road network Verification of compliance against the requirements of Work Zone Traffic Safety Management Policies and Manuals, regulatory requirements and international best practice Checks that the contractors traffic management plan for the work zone is being adhered to. Raise and issue non-conformance reports where compliance breaches are noted during reviews Assist management with in meeting established safety and risk management goals and objectives. Collects and analyses data to write technical reports regarding performance of work zone area against Guidance/ policies Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate. |
RequirementsRequirementsQualification High level certificate, Diploma or Degree in Occupational Safety or in a related field. Preferred designation as a Certified Safety Professional (CSP / CMIOSH) Specific skills required Excellent working knowledge of industry practises/safety/quality management systems Up to date knowledge of all issues relating to Safety, Health and Environment in the Middle East.. High level of numerical skills High level of literacy skills in English Clear Verbal communication skills Person Specification (Personality Attributes) Receptive Approach. Displays initiative. Attention to detail Committed to quality outcomes. Can work alone and in a team environment Experience 8 + years of related professional work experience in the Safety field including 1 yr achieved locally or regionally with demonstrated experience in this field Additional Comments Middle East experience preferred. Position will be based in Ashghal office. |
