Roads Supervisor

Job description / Role

- Ensure that the structures work, under his supervision, is executed in accordance with the plan, drawing specifications and time schedule.
- Ensure availability of manpower, material, plant and other resources and facilities for the work in his hand.
- Provide technical guidance to his subordinates.
- Report to higher site management regarding constraints and possible solution in respect of work under his supervision.
- Bring out the hold ups, which impede progress of work to the notice of the higher site management.
- Get the works, under his supervision, inspected and approved by the client/ Consultant/ Independent Engineer.
- Ensure implementation of quality, safety, hygiene and environmental measures.
- Ensure that all plant and machines are maintained and checked daily.
- Coordinate his staff in such a manner that all aspects of the total work is ongoing in parallel with one another.

Requirements

- Receive checklists of all plant and machinery under his supervision and report defects.
- Start with a site meeting and explain the days goals.
- Set out work to be completed.
- Record the daily progress.
- Ensure that levels and layer works are done 100% according to the specifications.
- Calibrate plant and equipment where necessary.
- Enforce company and site rules.
