Employment: Full Time

A leading semi-governmental organization from the industrial development background, based in Abu Dhabi is looking to recruit an experienced Rolling Manager to join their dynamic team of professionals. The ideal candidate must have at least 7 years of experience in managing an aluminum foil rolling mill. The ideal candidate must also have thorough knowledge of the aluminum foil rolling industry.

The Rolling Manager is responsible for assisting in the design, procurement, erection, and commissioning of the cast house in the aluminum foil mill. After commissioning, the Rolling Manager shall head the rolling mill operations and maintenance.

The responsibilities are as follows:
- Meet with the General Manager and Steering Committee as requested to update on progress in a professional manner and communicate effectively. Address any concerns which may arise and act in the best interests regarding the development of the foil rolling mill.
- Assist the General Manager and Procurement Manager in the tendering/bidding process for all equipment/machinery suppliers.
- In coordination with the General Manager effectively deal with potentially arising problems such as delivery, labor, schedule and payment disputes regarding the facility.
- Assist the General Manager in collaborating with governmental entities, utility providers, licensing, and other stakeholders to ensure delivery of the project is in compliance with Abu Dhabi standards.
- Coordinate with Casting Manager to ensure seamless development of interface between cast-house and rolling plant.
- Manage rolling operations in order to ensure that foil stock, foil production, and conversion processes follow state-of-the-art industry standards; additionally, ensure delivery of the optimum product mix based on customer and market requirements.
- Inspect finished goods to ensure they meet or exceed product specifications.
- Establishing quality standards, implementing stringent quality control systems to enhance quality of products and reduce rejection level through continuous up gradation of ISO and QMS. Utilize Management techniques and programs, such as ISO 9000, Total Quality Management (TQM) and emphasize continuous quality improvement.
- Deploying quality initiatives in the unit and working towards zero defects.
- Establish group/ team and individual accountabilities (KPIs) throughout assigned departments for problem solving and cost reduction, both on a permanent and ad-hoc basis, depending on need.
- Organize and oversee training needs and procedures for employees to ensure proper training and development of all employees in operation, safety and maintenance functions.

Requirements

- Four year technical or engineering degree (or equivalent advanced degree) related to manufacturing and/or heavy industries.
- Technical/Business post graduate degree is favourable as well.
- At least 7 years experience in managing an aluminum foil rolling mill with a production capacity not less than 20,000 tons per annum.
- Thorough knowledge of the aluminum foil rolling industry.
- Cold and Foil rolling experience a must.
- Significant experience in production of: light gauge foils (6.3 9 micron) and aluminum foils for food and pharma industries.
- Experience in foil conversion (lamination, coating, painting etc) is preferable.
- Having managed an aluminum foil rolling team of over 100 people on shifts operation
- Having participated in the greenfield construction or brownfield expansion and commissioning of a foil mill is a strong benefit.
